Just wondering who's running this prop and what their thoughts are. We're thinking of changing ours to the Acme 2315 from the original 537 and just wanted to know peoples thoughts on performance differences and fuel economy.
I've have read all I can on this prop, but peoples opinions are much better i thought.
Any help would be great. Thanks

What are your uses? I'm at 5200' and my boat tops out at 33mph at 3500 rpm. But it will get on plane very quick ballasted with 2500 pounds. I dont have a need to ever do 40mph or more so I'm happy with the 1235. I burn a lot of fuel but never ran the stock 4 blade so I don't have a comparison

is 3500 rpm a typo? If it's not, you are way overpropped.

First thing you need to do is verify the 15" diameter prop will fit your boat without causing any cavetation issues. You will need at least 1/2" clearance between the gelcoat and the end of the prop blade.

I'm curious about the 2315 too. I switched to around 4000 pounds of ballast this year and have the 350 in a 23 LSV. I need all I can get.

I also run the 2315 on my VLX w/monsoon 350, have been very pleased with the performance. I can cruise at 30-32 mph without pushing the engine too hard, I lost about 2-3 mph total off top speed. I was previously using the 1235 and did notice a big improvement in low end holeshot and the boat reaches desired tow speed much quicker.
I have no idea what the 537 is pitched at, but if you are looking for a true "power prop" for running a lot of weight, and you are willing to loose some top end speed, I think you will be very pleased with the 2315.

travis - what happened to your RPMs at cruise and tow speed? I'm considering the 2305 for my xstar (the splined version of the 2315).

From 1235 to 2315 most are seeing a 250-300rpm increase. However, your motor will work less to get on plane and shorter planing time. In the hole shot the 2315 will burn less fuel compared to trying to plane with a struggling 1235 or 537. On the cruising aspect near top end, the 2315 may burn more fuel.

Tim , I checked with the prop supplier and he wasn't to concerned about the distance close to the gelcoat. Do you need 1/2" an inch ? If so, we might be in trouble. might have to go for the 1235.
We are having trouble getting up to speed when wakesurfing. When fully loaded with all stock ballast and fatsac in rear locker, plus people on boat, we cant get the speed we need. Just bogs down. That's the reason for the prop change. We need the extra weight in the locker to get a decent wave going.
Haven't checked speeds with the stock prop yet.
Is the 1235 way different than the 2315 ?

The ACME 2315 is the go to prop for most newer, heavily weighted Malibus and Axis boats.

Yeah you should be hitting at least 40mph and 4500RPMs with the 2315 at alt. What engine are you running. The 1235 is a decent prop is you aren't running heavy. I ran it on my VTX with 3k ballast and it struggled a ton with the 350 monsoon. My LSV has the 2315 and the LS3, the rev limiter tops me out at 40mph with about 1/3 of the throttle left. I too am in colorado

I have a 2002 vlx, believe it is the 5.7L motor. I only surf with it ballasted it out, so we're never doing more than 11.5mph with weight. I think my throttle cable is messed up cause WOT the throttle is almost pointing towards the darn floor, so I never really go there. I've tried adjusting it a thousand times, can't get it figured out. I would like to know more & see if everything is correct with RPM's & such, maybe we could get together this summer & you can tell me?

You could also go with the 2313; it's a 2315 with a .150 cup instead of a .105, so you won't get hit quite as bad for cruising speed. It is going to be a crazy difference over a 537.

Check out the 2079. It is a 1/2 smaller diameter but just as egressive. Check with wakemakers.com and see which prop they recommend for your boat when it is heavily weighted. Go to their website and see.

we've got a 2008 Svfara SV3. I'll check on the 2079 like you suggested. We've been doing some measurements and I think the 2315 will be ok.
I'm in Brisbane, Australia, so unfortunately we've got to go with the local boys here. If one size doesn't work, at least we can swap it for a smaller one.

We are on standley, so we don't get to take the boat many other places due tot he quarantine. We should get together and ride though

Would love to. I got on the list & was approved for a Standley permit but that quarantine thing made me decide against, too many places I want to visit this summer. I suck at boarding, not gonna lie. But my daughter is making good progression, I would love for her to get with some better riders & start learning tricks
