Started a sub install on the boat, putting in a 12" on the kick plate if front of driver.

First was to clean up the space, i wish i had a b4 picture as i thought we would never be able to fit it in there. After some relocating and cable management, it looks something like this.

now for the box

test fitting

resin (and i know i went a little crazy on the screws considering the glue holds the box together)

Looks good! Nice job! Looks like you could make a nice cover that hides all of the wires and stuff too if you wanted.

Ryan, it's funny you just posted this. I was starting to formulate a plan to do the exact same thing to mine. Did you cut out the hump or was it already gone? What did you do with the PME box? Do you have a heater in there?

Keep the great pics coming...nice work so far.

It is a 01 so it didnt have a hump. 02 and on you would have to cut it out. I relocated the PME on the left on the walk thru wall.

You can see it to left on box in this picture:

Well no need for for more than one 12, but it is very deceiving, anyone who has ever worked knows how tight it is back there. Plus wanted to be bale to reach over the kick plate to be able to reach PME too.

All and all i am super happy with it, i think it came out great. Sounds great and didnt have to sacrifice any leg room.

HA

Well our boat is more utilitarian as i would call it, 95% of the time the stereo is listened to from inside the boat. We don't shake the water but the single 12 hits more than enough to balance out the highs from our Pro 80's. We wont win any decibel sound contests, but we did achieve balance at average to above average volumes w/o loosing any storage or ballast bag room, which was the desired goal.
