Why don't they just puke in a bucket and slog it at the boat. Every year I think they've out done themselves on the ugly meter, and every year they come out with something a little nastier .

i think its a little overdone, but i like.
and that interior is gross. buckskin son. whoever said it should be white or whatever is crazy. every other boat is white.

This is a wrap you can get on any MC, and there are many others you can do. It is super ugly in my opinion but if someone likes the look, it can be added.

Cliff, that is a wrap Rusty picked out of about 50 choices, not a wrap that comes standard. I'm sure if you post your contact info Rusty and/or MasterCraft will call you to get your advice on graphics before they make it available to the public. Then maybe they wont need an ugly meter anymore.

I agree with nacho"overdone". Who's going to buy this thing 3 or 4 years time. Can't be good for re-sale.
Old     (woreout)      Join Date: Aug 2006       11-27-2007, 11:01 AM Reply
You can peel the wrap off whenever you want and have the original color that wont be faded one bit. So probably better for resale.

Cliff have you looked in a MIRROR lately? DUDE Please.

I would suggest a wrap for something besides that OLD Nautique you have. Maybe that bod could use a WRAP of sometype A HERBAL WRAP!

Sorry I am not the BEST WRAPPER

Is that a hinging platform rather than a removable? If so that is sick!

Cliff own's a White boat with a Black stripe. So asking him what he thinks of a crazy color'd boat is like asking a guy that only like vanilla I cream what he think's of rainbow sherbert.

That wrap is sick but im not a fan of the interior. A black and white camo might have looked good.
Old     (seattle)      Join Date: Mar 2002       11-28-2007, 6:08 AM Reply
You may be able to peal the wrap off, but anywhere the wrap didn't cover the boat you will be able to see a distinct difference in color on the gel. Oh, and even if you do remove the wrap, you'll still have to contend with the ass stain color of the interior.

Rally the wagons MC boys, there's an intruder in your midst!

Cool options. I really like #2 and #4.

Does anyone know how much the wraps cost from MC?
Old     (wakereviews)      Join Date: Sep 2006       11-28-2007, 7:52 AM Reply
actually, some of these have multiple color variants as well so there is an even larger selection. If you want the pdf file with the other variants, PM me.

I think they really look great for the most part. Props to MC for thinking out of the box again and providing what the customers want.

Are they available on all models? Or just the X-Star?

not sure if all models but definitely more than just the xstar

when you peel that off I would imagine to gel would be ruined due to the adhesive that has bonded with it in the hot sun, but once again a really smart way to hide spider cracks in gel coat. Now if they could just make a wrap to go around the tower feet.
Old     (talltigeguy)      Join Date: Sep 2003       11-28-2007, 9:55 AM Reply
Someone seemed to think it was an option that costs 10K. I do not know if that is a reliable source, but it seems very much overpriced.

I think with quality gelcoat, there will not be any noticeable difference in the color when the wrap is removed. The adhesive may take a little elbow grease to remove, but definitely not a problem, either.

Maybe you could see a difference in the gelcoat if you let your boat sit in the Arizona sun 24/7 for 3 years. My boat is in the garage most of the time, so I know it would not be an issue.

I think MC has hit a home run with this idea. They have had ugly graphics for the last few years, but this one will be solid.

wow... some sweet graphics options. still removable for resale. great idea and some of these schemes look great.

I hate to admit it, but I am not a fan of any of these options.

"I think MC has hit a home run with this idea. "

Me too. Looks like it should be very appealing to the wakeboarding crowd.

^^^ agreed. If you have 70k for a wakeboat, then you probably have another 4k to make it VERY unique.

matt c,
I think Malibu has already had the idea of covering up imperfections except they use carpet.

There is probably 50 or more MC wrap designs that are not shown above. My dealer told me the wraps range from 2500 to 5000 depending on which one you choose.

THIS IS SO GREAT

billy would you rather have carpet or spider cracks all over the inside of a two month old boat. Personally I prefer the comfort and quietness of carpet. On the wraps, some of them look pretty cool, but no way is a sticker worth 2500 to 5000 and I'm sure they are not warrantied when and if they begin to peel. Face it pal MC ain't the MC of old see Roger Penske. Major restructure within the next two years at the plant. Word has it, they may actually be looking at Malibu's production processes to improve theirs. Not from reliable sources though, just friends that work at the MC plant in Vonore, TN.

On the topic of wraps - does anyone know a company that sells custom Malibu wraps like those MC ones above?
Old     (talltigeguy)      Join Date: Sep 2003       11-29-2007, 11:45 AM Reply
Their is a place called Re:boat that makes custom boat wraps and can design it however you want. They have done a few Tiges on Tigeowners.com and seem to do an incredible job of whatever the customer wants.

MC has done some great things in the past few years with color options. I dig the sparkle, especially in gray or the dark red.

Skulls and/or grafitti however just look lame to me. 5 years from now it will be the equivalent of the tribal graphic. diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks i guess.
Old     (davez71)      Join Date: Oct 2007       11-30-2007, 9:05 AM Reply
Do they make these for any other boat brands
Old     (joshugan)      Join Date: Apr 2005       11-30-2007, 9:43 AM Reply
Tommy, but in 5-10 years you can peel the wrap off and (ideally) have an underneath gelcoat in mint condition. It's a great idea imo. You can put classic lines underneath and whatever crazy wrap you want on the top. If it's out of style then pull the wrap off.

Malibu should do something like this. I want to sell my 05 VLX and get a new one but their boats keep getting Fugly. Space age dash and bad graphics, not to mention the new XS tower what were they thinking?
