I have a CMD4 cd player and during the install I accidently hooked the positive wire to the negative side of the battery and the negative wire to the positive side of the battery. It sparked and the cd player smoked until I had time to undo the wire. What I am wondering is
1. Have I fried my CD Player?
2. Why didn't the fuses blow?

I tried to hook it up the correct way, but the cd player still will not turn on.

If it smoked. I would say fried. Did you buy it new? It could have been bad from the factory

Probably but check the fuse on the back it should have blown. If it did replace it and see if it still works, and pay attention next time.
