I just had my boat gel coated 2 years ago but with a lot of heavy use and being all black you can see scratches pretty easy. What is the best way to get them out? Wet sand? If so what grit? buff? compounds? thanks

Meguiars makes a product called X2 fine scratch remover. This is a great product and will remove fine to moderate scratches without damaging the gel coat. You may have to apply multiple times to get it off but it will come after a few applications. Have used it a couple times already on my boat. Just removed some fine scratches from wakeboards hitting the rear of the boat.

I use 3M Finesse It 2 and then Meguiars boat wax.

-Rub it out with 2000 grit wet.
-Then hit it with 3M Marine Rubbing Compound. This is course stuff...so be careful.
-Hit it with a med-fine compound
-3M Finesse It II for the final pass

Use a real low speed rotarty (not orbital) posisher. Be CAREFUL. You can burn through.
