Im thinking of making the switch from an 03 parks 133 to the new CWB Absolute Platinum 135, is this a good move? I like the parks but just feel that im not improving on the board. I don't have a place to demo boards where im located so I just wanted some opinions.

the parks is a very aggressive board, and probably is hindering your progression. I've ridden the absolute and it is a really fun board. There are several different fins that you can put in that board that will totally change the way it rides. It is a pretty aggressive rocker, but nothing like the Parks. You would probably progress at a faster rate on the Absolute.

absolute platinumn 135 is the ridden the parks, but I landed 2 new tricks and 1 new variation of a new trick, all in my first set on the new board. I couldn't have bought a better board!

The Absolute is the most aggressive but rider friendly board made.
I hear next year it is snowboard thin. Don't see how that is possible..

i have to say that once you ride the absolute you won't look back. i have been riding it all summer and credit all of my progression to the platinum and myself. hehe. go buy one and be happy.

I have an 04 Parks, and an 04 Absolute. Love them both, but they are very different boards. I recently pulled the center fins on the ab and wow! What a fun board. Like I said, love them both. Go for the Absolute. Great ride!

have been thinking about getting this board to replace my 02 byerly. are there any places to pick up a blem like grizzly has w/hyperlite gear? best price for the 05 absolute 141 seems to be about $400...

absolute all the way. What size are you? I'm 5'8" 170lbs and ride the 141. Very sweet and butta smooth landings.

I love my absolute. It seems to be the perfect mixture of everything for me. The Parks felt a little aggressive. But that is just me.

you guys got it all wrong...the parks is the best and nothing else compares. you guys are just jacked because you ain't skillz mad enough to harness the power of da Parkz and you are left grounded. peace and werd.

with that being said, get an Absolute. I would recommend the 04 over the 05, but thats just me.

I would recommend the 05 over the 04. But that's just me.

It has smoother landings and bigger pop. Plus it rides like a dream without the center fin.

Honestly I'd recommend the 06 over all of them but hey what can you do?

I would take the 05. The landings are softer.

Hey, If you take a sharpie and write Parks on your board, will it make you a better rider?
Toolfan, have you tried this?

While were asking - Can you feel the difference between the platinum and the regular absolute? And if so, is it that big of a difference?
Old     (toolfan)      Join Date: Jul 2003       07-27-2005, 10:29 AM Reply
SoCal, I'll have to try that. I should have waited on getting my Parks tattoo thinking it would have the same effect.

Too me the 04 is alittle faster and releases a little better. The 05 is alittle tighter and feels like the newer Premier, which unlike the old Premier, I dont like. But I guess that is why they make different boards. Nobody is the same.

As for Platinum or not. I dont think either one will make you a better rider. If you got the extra cash for the Platinum, go for it. I always think the graphics on the Platinum board are better. But as for riding, I dont think its worth it.

The Platinum is like one pound lighter. I could not tell a difference in the two.

Was told by an ex pro that gave me advice about the Absolute that the Platinum had 2 titanium rods imbedded in the board but unless you were an advanced rider, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between that and the standard model.
