What is everyone using to power their NVS? I am looking at getting a pair of addictions and trying to figure out if they require the 300watts rms a each or as a pair. If it's each I might just use two amps one of each.

My guess is probably close to 300 RMS/piece. I did the same thing with my 1010's use two amps. The reason I did this was I already had one 2 channel amp I used to push my old setup and it was alot cheaper to purchase another one of the same amps, then buy a big 4 channel. So far so good. I have them hooked up where I can control the remote turn-on to each amp w/ a switch. I used some inexpensive audiobahn amps ($150) a8002t.(800x1 RMS) Bridge them down and run the gains about 50%. They may not be high end equipment but they meet my needs and if the blow/get wet/break, I'm only out $150 not $500.

I run my 1010s with an Orion 8004. I paid about $300 for it at www.cbrstereo.com, but for whatever reason, they don't list it anymore. It's been a great amp, although 800 watt RMS is a little bit low for the 1010s. It gets pretty hot, so we had to install a small fan inside the storage compartment to keep the amp from overheating/shutting off.

I'm pretty sure the Addictions are 300RMS per side.

I'm using a Precision Power amp PCX 4125 to run my 1010's. This amp has fans that cool the amp from inside. I've never had them shut down on me. I got mine off EBay new for under $400. This was the original amps that NVS was telling everyone to buy when I got mine last year.

Christopher,

That amp has the capability of pushing 500Watts RMS x 2 if bridged. Do you bridge both front and rear and run 500 Watts to each unit?

I also run the PPI 4125 amp. that thing is awesome.
I run it bridged so each pair has 500w going to it. One thing though, it really sucks the juice when you crank it up. My voltmeter reads about 12v when its running flat out
I also found mine one ebay for about 400.

Talltigeguy,

Yes, I'm running mine the same way Tom is running his..... I have two of them in my boat. One to the 1010's bridged and one to the interior speakers they are a great amp for the money. I'm using 1000/1 mono JL amp to run JL W7 sub. They suck a lot of juice, but people can here me coming and then going for a very long time.

Tom and Christopher -

did you replace your stock alternator when using that amp? i have the same amp and will be taking my boat out next weekend for the first time. i have asked a few others about this situation, but figured i would ask a few more. i have 2 batteries and an isolator, but i am pretty sure i will need to get a bigger alternator too, especially if i plan on sitting in a cove every weekend in the afternoons.

Matt~

I'm running two yellow tops along with the main battery, and have been able to go all day. I have to plug in the charger at night.
