I am looking to get a new board. Now I am on an 05 LF Balance 143. I like it but I am looking for something with more pop and an easier release off the wake. I have looked at all of the boards out and it looks like I am between the Hyperlite 3DS and Drive. What do some of you recommend between these 2. I am 6'2" and 210lbs. I like these because they are a little bigger and wider on the nose and tail. I have never ridden a board with a 3-stage rocker and the board I have now is a hybrid continuous. How do the 3-stage's do in rougher water? Most of the riding we do is in a bay or a river off the bay and it is pretty calm most of the time but usually not as calm as a lake. There are no lakes around me. How does the 3-stage feel. Where I live the closest board shop is 3 hours away so all of my buying is done online. I was also considering the LF Axis and Watson but am leaning towards the Hyperlite. Just looking for some advice. Thanks

The 3DS and Drive are both continuous.

On Hyperlites site it says the 07' Drive is 3-stage.

I haven't ridden the Drive but have a TFD, the older version of the 3DS and it is a great board. Pop is good, landings are soft. My son has ridden the 3DS for the last few years and loves it, he has been on almost all the top end HL boards and always ends up back on the 3DS. As always demo is your best option if you can. If you like fast boards the 3DS would be a good chose.

it is a miss print, the drive is a continuous rocker but it still pops really hard. I rode both the 3ds and the Drive for a good while last year and really liked them alot. Now that the drive has a thiner profile i am going to switch over to it this year. It has good wake to wake pop but still has the speed to take you in the flats....

Sorry I was thinking 06 Drive. Didn't know they changed the rocker.

i was just informed that it is actually a 3 stage board, however it is labled wrong on the board itself. If you lay it on it's side you can clearly see it looks 3 stage but when i read on the label it was contiuous i just beleived what it said. Regardless i am a big fan of the board, def worth a demo. However i hear that the frontier is the "finish" version of the board.....
