I pretty much narrowed my buying decision to a Sanger. I rode the 215 and it was the best boat I demo'd. I would like to go with the 230 for some extra room, but will I sacrifice much ride?

I really like the turning and nimble ride on the 215 and I won't be running it in rough water.

any comments are appreciated.
Thx

I have a V210 and I have also been in the 215 and 230 Sanger and all three handle very good. You would not go wrong with any one of the three.

I had this same question posted a month ago you might want to do a search and check the feedback.. i just bought an 06 v215 last week.. after looking at all three and listening to everyones advice i chose the 215.. the 210 throws an awesome wake.. the 215 also throws a great wake takes a little more weight im still playin with that.. imo the 215 offers an amazing amount of interior room and storage over the 210 plus you can get the tripple ballast.. the 230 is even bigger but is going to take way more weight to get a big wake but if you have a large crew you may need the extra room.. they all are great boats.. your gonna be hard pressed to find a better handling v drive.. i just felt the 215 had more than enough room, wasnt gonna take a ton of weight to get a good wake and is a little more nimble than the 230..

I own a 215 and was going for the 230 but couldn't fit the beast in my garage. Glad I have the 215 and if you're worried about people space, don't. I had 10 on board a few weekends ago and no one felt cramped at all. For me the wake is great with just the bow ballast a four friends in the back (800lb flesh sacks).

I decided to go with the 215.

The extra room it would have given me wasn't worth the $3K extra in my situation.

I'll pick it up on Friday after all the goodies are installed.

Thanks for the opinions.

Well your not going to believe this. I cancelled the Sanger and bought an 06 VLX.
I liked the look of the Malibu better and a few other things so I spent a few $ extra and went with the Malibu. I still say the Sanger actually handles better (IMO). But I took delivery of the new Malibu last Friday in Sacramento.
Either boat is great in my opinion.
See ya on the lake.

Turncoat! J/K The 06 VLX is sick, no doubt you will love it.

Oooh traitor!!! Make sure your engine isn't out of alignment causing the hull to twist and the windshield frame to shift a whole 2 inches. Haha, jk man I'm sure you've seen the bogus thread on that one. I love the looks of the 06 VLX.

BIG MISTAKE!! dude malibus suck compared to sangers!! ahh just kiddin i probablly would have stepped up too if i had the dough...i think malibus are probablly the best boat out there..just my opinion... so if you dont mind me askin how much more was the malibu compared to an equally equipped v 215??

Not exactly equally equipped..
Sanger 05, VLX 06, + power wedge & a few extra goodies (not much) and about $9k.

I really liked the Sanger dealer in Sacramento. That was the toughest part of the decision.

Tracy;
My 215 is in the garage. I have a standard size garage and I have to take the ball off when my tower is up

Mine is also in the garage. The entrance to the garage is 7ft. With the tower folded down, it is around 6-10.

Tracy, the tower sits at about 6'9" when folded, if I remember correctly. You can pull the back seat, and it'll sit in a little deeper too. I'll try to remember to measure it tonight and post it tomorrow.

Thanks for the info - I think it will fit!!!

What I do, is take the back seat out, then put the coast guard orange vests, in the plastic package down, so the speaker box is the thing supporting the weight.

Thanks for all the garage measurements...my garage is 82" att he narrowest point of the roll-up door. Do you all have roll-up type doors also...looks like it will just fit!

Does anyone know how much weight is in each ballast on V215 if you get triple ballast?
Old     (ghostrider_2)      Join Date: Aug 2004       10-31-2005, 4:13 AM Reply
