I have been wakeboarding for quite a few years now. I consider myself an advanced rider. Got a few simple inverts, love to spin just can't go over 540. I feel like I am at a plateau as far as progression and that it has a lot to do with the fact that I can't seem to make myself keep my eyes open in the air. I just automatically close them even when I consiously try to keep them open, and if I do manage to keep them open I tend to get disoriented and fall. I think simple spins and inverts can be hucked blindfolded, but now that I'm trying more complicated tricks I feel like I need more air awareness. So I'm curious... do you all keep you eyes open all the way through your tricks?

Sorry for the long post.

I'm in the same boat as you bro! It's not that I close my eyes, but more like blacking out. I dont' see the first part of the trick because I'm so amped up.

learn to do tricks on a trampoline. Learning flips with spins on the trampoline is a lot easier than on a wakeboard, and you can practice keeping ur eyes open and spotting your landing. The trampoline has helped me a lottt in progressing, and it seems like it would probably help you too.
