so i was trying these at the lake today and they were a lot easier then i thought, my rotation was great, but i couldnt get the handle. i would throw it get my pop, but the line tension would be too high, and i pulled hard. i got the handle in my finger tips once but couldnt hold on. btw i was landing perfectly without the handle so all i need is this tip and i got it. any help would be appreciated.

Keep the handle in close to your hip as you leave the wake. If your arms are extended more like they would be taking off for a scarecrow then getting the handle won't be easy. Also, try pulling the handle to your hip with BOTH hands. That should help. Also, when you get the handle, grabbing it again with your lead hand really helps with the landings. Good luck!

Pop up first, then pass later. You are probably throwing it way too early, so it would be almost impossible to grab that handle. If you pop up first, then the handle will be right close to your body.
