What is that board in the beginning of the video? Is that Nicks pro model? When will it be out?

Yes, that's Nick's pro model. Pretty sure it's called the Clash. If I remember right, it was set for late winter??? Somewhere around there I'm pretty sure.

If you are a subscriber to wakeboard magazine, the latest issue came with a Hyperlite Catalog you can see photos of it in there.

Because when it comes down to it, it is just a 3DS/Pulse it would be very capable on wake as well wouldnt it or have they changed it? Cause those are some sweet graphics!
Old     (wake2wake_66)      Join Date: Nov 2008       01-29-2009, 3:13 PM Reply
I just got a Ronix Bill for cable. But i bet this holds an edge way better. I like the graphics on this board! Nick Davies is the best cable rider ever. So I bet his pro model will be insane.

Did they change anything from the Pulse, or is it the same shape just a grind base and poly fins?
Old     (innov8)      Join Date: May 2005       01-29-2009, 3:26 PM Reply
Only changes are grind base, poly fins, same shape.
Old     (wake2wake_66)      Join Date: Nov 2008       01-29-2009, 3:32 PM Reply
Jeff, will y'all have them? How much will they cost?

Yes Justin, we will have the Hyperlite Clash.
I sent you a PM
Old     (benjaminp)      Join Date: Nov 2008       01-29-2009, 4:04 PM Reply
Great video. Can anyone educate me as to why he was riding the Pulse at the end as opposed to the clash? And as a side note, he must have short legs because all those shorts looked huge on him.
Old     (jaka)      Join Date: Mar 2007       01-30-2009, 4:24 AM Reply
Didnt they changed the sizing also? The pulse is 139 this board is 138. Anyone know if it will have a wider stance? I have 136 premier 07,and I would like a bit wider stance.
What is the difference in poly fins?
Old     (toby_yeo)      Join Date: Feb 2006       01-30-2009, 4:45 AM Reply
im pretty sure he was riding the pulse because he only brought a couple of boards out there with him and didnt want to break the board untill he gets his supply clash's
Old     (hawkeye7708)      Join Date: Feb 2007       01-30-2009, 6:46 AM Reply
I thought they went with a Poly fin to increase durability in Cable Parks. I think this board is basically marketed as a cable board, and as far as the Hyperlite team is concerned, it's probably going to be just Nick riding it, i'm guessing that he wanted a 138, so they said eh, why not.
Old     (seven20)      Join Date: Feb 2003       01-30-2009, 7:29 AM Reply
I am doubting that they changed the mold 1cm...that would cost too much money. It'll probably be like my jobe alpha 137, and my following year jstar lyman 136...exact same size with a different number.
Old     (kristian)      Join Date: Nov 2002       01-30-2009, 8:04 AM Reply
the 135 3DS/Pulse is a 138, the 139 is a 142, the 143 is a 146. They just put the correct labels on the clash.
Old     (jaka)      Join Date: Mar 2007       01-30-2009, 8:14 AM Reply
Wait,what? 135 Pulse is now 138 clash?
Old     (steezyshots)      Join Date: Feb 2008       01-30-2009, 8:46 AM Reply
Im sure you will see more than just Nick riding this board! It is a sick board for sure!
Old     (wakebrdr38)      Join Date: Sep 2006       01-30-2009, 8:49 AM Reply
most likely the poly fins are because cables like tsr technically dont allow metal fins. But the pros do it, and ive done it and gotten away with it. Their argument is that the metal fins tear up the rails, but my experience is that the rails tear up metal fins. If you are riding cable you can go through a set of metal fins a day easily. Poly fins are going to break too, but you wont get hasseled for them
Old     (seven20)      Join Date: Feb 2003       01-30-2009, 12:19 PM Reply
what Kristian said is what I believe is true...I always heard that the 3ds was mislabled, and the 139 was actually a 142..
Old     (jaka)      Join Date: Mar 2007       01-30-2009, 12:51 PM Reply
So this specifications are not correct?
http://www.wakeworld.com/boardguide/getboard9.asp?ProductID=4231

Well its confusing, because i doubt that Nick(he was on 139 3DS and 139 pulse) would ride 142cm board behind cable. No one ride this big boards behind cable.
And if this was true, and the clash has now the correct labels,we would see him on the pink 142(ex 139)board, not on the green 138.
Old     (wakeboardingzach)      Join Date: Jun 2008       01-30-2009, 12:52 PM Reply
hey justin would you recomend the arcade by bill for all cable riders? well i am intermediate
Old     (seven20)      Join Date: Feb 2003       01-30-2009, 1:57 PM Reply
If that is the case, then the 138 and 139 are probably the same...I just can't see building a new mold to change a board 1cm...
Old     (wake2wake_66)      Join Date: Nov 2008       01-30-2009, 2:05 PM Reply
Zach, my friend at TXMC rides it and said it is really good on rails. I am going to OWC in about a month so I will ride it there. It has molded in "fins" that look like they won't get in the way on rail. (they don't even look like they would classify as a fin) It is a really loose board. I will be on the Viva for the wake though.
Old    wakejjboard12            01-30-2009, 2:28 PM Reply
so they just label boards however they want? i don't understand why they've been off for so long. are alot of boards labeled incorrectly?
Old     (chrism4668)      Join Date: Sep 2007       01-30-2009, 3:15 PM Reply
My question is if its just a graphics change a grind base and poly fins why did it take so long to get made? the already had the moulds made maybe the clash was at the bottom of things to do
Old     (kristian)      Join Date: Nov 2002       01-30-2009, 5:18 PM Reply
Jaka: Go grab a tape measure and find out for yourself.

People do ride big boards on cable. All the bills I've seen on the cable have been 142's and I ride a 144 ibex. The bigger the better bro.

My Bill is a 142. I like really big boards... No matter where I ride them.

142 Recoil is awesome on/off cable

i ride a 142 recoil behind boat but ive ridden the 138 on the cable and liked it.

Nick was riding all the time 3DS/Pulse 139. He tried 142 and he didn't like it. I've seen 3DS/Pulse many times and the sizing looks accurate. Nick will go for that 138 pink Clash for sure, so its most likely that this is the old 139 3DS/Pulse shape.

Its a bit disappointing. Nick was talking about this board like an year ago, and now we get an 4 (or more) year old shape with new graphics...

Maybe the difference is where they measure it from if its tip to tail down the middle it would be slightly longer than if it was tip to tail along the rail
Old     (jaka)      Join Date: Mar 2007       01-31-2009, 3:05 AM Reply
kristian: sorry but i dont agree with you,the bigger isnt better on cable. Big boards dont seat deep enough in the water,so they are not that good for air tricks. Maybe for kickers, because you get more speed out of them. Watch any cable movie, you will see that no one is on 140+ board.
And again,if this was the case,we would see Nick on 142 not 138 Clash.
Old     (luke_j)      Join Date: Jul 2008       01-31-2009, 10:33 PM Reply
The sub 6 is the same case as the clash. The 138 sub6 is identical in dimension to the 135 Pulse/3DS, and the 142 is identical to the 139. Nick rides the 42.

Bigger boards work better for many riders especially on cable because it goes so slow. I wouldn't even think about riding something smaller than 142 and hitting kickers, It'd be brutal on the knees. And I only weigh 160. It works just fine for air tricks too, just ask kristian. He'll vouch for me.
Old     (chrism4668)      Join Date: Sep 2007       01-31-2009, 11:13 PM Reply
yeah they must be measuring at different points of the board for them to be the same measurements.
Old     (chrism4668)      Join Date: Sep 2007       01-31-2009, 11:14 PM Reply
but different lengths
Old     (jaka)      Join Date: Mar 2007       02-01-2009, 4:28 AM Reply
Ok,lets live the board size to personal preferences, but Im still for smaller boards for cable:-)
Where did you see Nick on 142? You can see from the video I posted he is on 138.
And I am a bit disappointed at hyperlite, how can you sell a 138cm board that is not 138cm?
Oh and one more question, why dont the manufacturers give all the necessary specifications(hight,weight,stance,...)? You get everything from a snowboard company!
Old     (kristian)      Join Date: Nov 2002       02-01-2009, 6:39 AM Reply
Jaka: I saw Nick yesterday, he does ride the 142 Clash.
I think you've got it the wrong way around, the Clash has the correct sizes on it the 3DS/Pulse did not, they were all labeled 3cm smaller.

Luke has been slaying the air tricks lately and his board sure ain't to big.

the clash 142 = the pulse 139

I just saw pics of nick riding the 138 (pink) on cable so i think he is switching

the pink is the 142

Anyone know what is the widest stance on this two boards?

IMHO, 1cm in the width makes more difference than 3cm in the length. Its about shape. If Nick likes it... its OK. But 3DS is definitely not the most ridden board on the cable parks and more likely will never be.

As for the size - boards labeled as 138 - 140 are working better than smaller ones on the cable for me. Never tried bigger boards (I should). 139 wider board is definitely smoother on the catapult/air tricks than 136 narrow one, that tends to cut too deep and release with explosion.
