Derek, That is an awesome shot. My son does that all the time, the other son just loves cannonballs - family time on the boat is the best. I had one shot at that picture before the rollers came in from the boaters that came out for the day. I was able to rip off 4 or 5 before the waves entered the pics. A lot of people ask me why we weren't out on water that good - my answer is that we had already been out that morning, twice!

My baby along time ago someone sent me of it, or an identical boat, in production. Now has chrome b530s and chrome board racks. Looks pretty sick. Window tint is next, or a trade in on a 05. Working on my dad

I have a question, I see a lot of these boats are run up on shore or resting at shore, Do people routinely do this? I know they have those shore gadgets you lay out but none appear to be using them. I have to believe this is bad on the hull and really places the stabilizing fins mid hull at risk of hitting especially when a wave comes a shore and rocks the boat back and forth...I have not done this but was curious what peoples thoughts are? ive been thinking the same thing jeff, i know at my lake it doesnt get very deep very fast so it is impossible to beach it, but some of these other lakes it might be possible if the shore drops off fast

Greg, Well I was looking at some of the Pictures posted and the shore looks like a gradual angle away so I have to believe they are hitting the fins. Just the rocking back and forth on the nose of the hull is bad enough. I mostly wondered if people did not care and this is how it is and others like me scope an anchor 10 feet out and swim to shore. Just seems like it could get expensive if you miscalculated... Carry On.....

"I mostly wondered if people did not care and this is how it is" I think that's probably closer to the truth than anything else. Personally, I use the Anchor Buddy & couldn't be happier. No swimming to get to the boat, just pull her in & step up on the platform & the Buddy will pull her back out again.

I will beach my boat in some places. I will power in till I am in about 2' of water, then I kill the engine, and get out and walk her the rest of the way. If I hit the fins first, then she comes back out, and i anchor her away from the shore. Usually if the shore is that shallow, and does not drop off fast enough, the prop will be the first thing to hit as it is much lower than the rest of the running gear. The few times I have beached my boat has taken a toll on the gellcoat at the front, and now I stay away from doing it unless it is necessary. But, I would bet that a majority of people don't think about what is under the water (in the lake or on their boat) when they are out on the water. Here is my '02 SANTE in water that is about 3' deep.

Ag4ever, nice scheme, dude! Friggin busy tower, too - doing some cross training ;-) Afree on the beaching thing - scratched mine up in the Havasu channel. That was the one time I let the boat drift up to the beach. Guess it's not all sand there. duh.

Well it appears from the posts that there is no rhyme or reason to people running their boat up to shore. I would have thought if people posted that they had the protective matt or something it made sense(at least for the hull) still did not explain the stabilizing fins. I think that MB Girl and AG4ever pretty well summed it up. Some people care and pay attention, others are just not in that mind set.

Derek, Thanks. The dealer had the boat during the '02 boat show as one of his showcase boats. It sat at the dealer till I bought it in Oct '02. At first I did not like the three tone tower, but he convinced me to take it that way and live with it for a few weeks, and if I still did not like it he would re-powder coat it any way I wanted at no cost. Now I like it b/c I have never seen any other tri-colored towers. The other boat we were looking at was an equally equiped black/grey boat. (Dark gery deck, black stripe, grey hull, black tower. i really wanted that one b/c it looked so good. We decided that in Texas the white deck would be better. On hot days I am glad I got white, but the black looks so good. Also I spend 90% of my water time on the chair, board a little, and surf even less. Unfortunatly I was in a wreck a couple weeks ago, and it tore up some muscles in my lower back, so no watersports for me. Heck I can hardly ride in a car or even bendover right now. I am johnsen real bad for some water time.

In my pic above I am beached but it drops off way quicker than it looks - 3 ft out is deeper than my waist. Fins didn't even come close to touching. However, that was the first and last time I'll beach it. I wasn't happy with the all the fine little scratches, they really show up in the red gel coat. I was still breaking it in at that time and didn't know better.

I'm thinking abour installing a keel guard for beaching when there is clean sand (no rocks). Anyone else have one?
