The LF sphynx are amazing, crazy thick footbeds , and super comfy all the way through, I hear the design of them for 05 is sick. They have 2 different systems to tighten them up, one over the foot and one at the top of the boot, so that it can be adjusted real well for every person that rides them

try them both on you probably can't go wrong with either. whichever one is more comfortable is probably the key.

Zeus since '03 baby

The Zeus' are so great, the 2005 have the punk rock bling factor going but sure do look good. The footbed, hardware & plate got a bunch better!

if the Zeus really come with those studs I wouldn't be caught dead in those things.

Doesn't look like there is much adjustment to the "new" plate.

There is the adjustment that you will need and no extra weight.

Thane The studs are on there for 05, the kids at the Irvin show sure seemed to love them.

I rode hyperlite until last year. I got the Zeus and LOVE them. I would never go back to a hyperlite binding again.

Yes they are very dusty. The Irvin site was a dust bowl

The plate has all the adjustments you need as long as you don't have a stance where you point your toes inward. I agree Thane, I'm not a huge fan(it looks like a "Nor-Cal" thing). They asked my opinion back in March & I said lose it but I am nobody. My plan is to color them with a magic marker.

I don't know man..... Tim Krutz says he's used Zeus since '03, and he also had a compound fracture of his tibia/fibula.....

I'd go Sphynx

You can get hurt in any bindings. I broke my ankle in a pair of Ultras & my friend Ryan compounded his tib/fib in the EXO's. It's pretty hard to say it's the bindings fault...I now ride the Zeus becuase my ankle needs the extra support. (sorry if I respond a lot on the thread)

haha blame it on the bindings

not the bindings fault. my fault for throwing the trick too early. still ride the same bindings.

for a less expensive binding, the LF Ultras this year are designed really well, the material that goes up the front of your foot and becomes the tongue is actually molded rubber instead of a straight piece bent, therefore it wont bunch up as much. Cant wait to get a pair of those new minx or sphynx

"if the Zeus really come with those studs I wouldn't be caught dead in those things."

are they really that big of a deal?

Reiterating the fact:
No matter how good something rides, or fits, if it doesn't look cool or have the right name on it, most people aren't interested. I can't tell you how many people come into our shop and want a board that is COMPLETELY wrong for them simply because of the name on it.
Some companies profit very well off of this...
