Slingshot finless for kicker and slider???

Just curious if you guys out there with slingshots are riding them finless for kickers and sliders? Or going with an alluminum fin or just riding the stock fins? Has anyone put the A or P wings on there slingshot?

I just use it finless, works just fine

i have put the HY aluminum fins on mine, BUT i am not hitting sliders though.

if i was hitting sliders, i'd go finless.

Yes, I ride my slingshot recoil finless on sliders. You can still generate a lot of pop without the fins (see the picture below). The board is very loose, but as long as you use your edges properly, you will not have any problems.

Also, I ride my Recoil finless on the wake about 90% of the time. The only time I put fins on is if there is a ton of boat traffic or wind chop. The edges are sharp enough to get a good hold on the water and I think the board releases off the wake better without the fins. I also think that the board flexes more and gets better pop without the fins. The only hard part of riding finless is the landings. Landing without fins can be very loose. It was something I had to get used to.

What is the key to ollieing that high? I always feel like my ollies arent high enough to clear many of those step ups for sliders

Zach, the real key to get a high olie is to practice it over and over again.

I have also seen a real difference in my olies since I became obsessed with P90x polymetrics. See the P90x forum in non-wake.

I also practice jumping as high off my indo board as possible and trying to land on it (for balance). Doing this on the ground works well too.

Some people double pump their olies; where you do a small pump before you do the olie, but it is too inconsistant for me. Especially when you are trying to olie a solid steel drum like the picture above.

Simply put, I start with my legs slightly bent, crouch 3/4 of the way down, pop off the tail of my board (really hard), suck my knees up and then land.

I would also say that using the slingshot is like cheating. That pick was taken on my second time riding that board. The pop is amazing.
