I think it's a stupid idea with no benefit as a whole. I don't think people could ever even come close to agreeing on the details of such a separation either. It does get that local official a little free publicity, though.

I live in the mythical "State of Jefferson". Its been in the works since 1941

Seems like Pearl Harbor was a bit more important than the vote for Jefferson... Interesting history.
