Since the pictures from old Wakeworld to new Wakeworld don't appear to have transferred, lets start a new one!
Side note- what are the new size requirements?

why you would up a 2332px × 1551px image in the first place is beyond me.
you can always shrink your pics down then edit your post above w/ the sized-down pics.

I don't edit anything ever... I shoot jpeg from the hip, I put up other pics and it just formatted the size for me.... but not those babies.

maybe you should take into consideration that 99% of people out there don't have 30" monitors.

I'm curious how those above shots got posted in a larger size where my 2 were resized automatically?

when I initially posted they were thumbnails, then you clicked them and they grew to sit standard size.
I've done other pics that got re-sized...no idea why those went nuts.
...and yes Joe, I'm on a 15" laptop, I know

Earlier today Dave turned off the automatic thumbnail thingy (any photo bigger than 100px in size is made into a thumbnail), so that's why sidekicknicholas' photos are now hugemongous.
And at least for now he's set the forum to auto-resize photos down to 800px wide or 1500 tall. 250kb max size.
But you can also embed photos from off site...

There is an admin tool that I'll run tomorrow to fix the big pics (I hope), but we're still working on the discussion board posts right now, so I don't want to run it yet. Stoked that we got the pics figured out though!

Dave,
If it helps or suggestions are wanted still, I really liked the thumbnail sizing with the pop up window when you clicked on a picture. It helps keep the thread really clean it seemed like.

hell no!!! thumbnails blow for picture threads.

I can see this feature being handy on a mobile version of the thread since it'll help with load time, but I don't think I like it much here. Or, can you make the thumbnail cutoff be 800px instead of 100px? That will help preserve the margins, and if you wanna see it bigger you can still do that.

David, if you read this delete my two photos ...they're a pain in the ass on this right now...
Is there a way to have everyhting a thumb, but once you click one you can scroll through the entire page worth of picutres, or does it only let you scroll through that specific posting?
If you could do them all with a "NEXT and BACK" button it might not be so bad

Actually, I want to leave them on there for now cuz I'm going to run a little fix later today that should resize all the oversized pics, so I'll be able to look at this thread and see if it worked.
I think the thumbs are out. I know that in some situations they might be useful, but overall people prefer to be able to scroll through a thread and view everything without having to click on stuff. Even the "hybrid" idea above would involve a lot of clicking.

Is it just me or are the photos losing some resolution on the new site? The images seemed a bit sharper on the old site?

It looks like it resizing the photos if you post anything larger then 700 pixels. That usually means quality goes to h@ll. Even pBase does a lousy job downsizing and it's designed to handle images.

A couple more photos from the past couple weekends. The first is the Flowrider at Mavericks of Sunriver, OR (one of the locals showing us how it's done). The second is the Boise Cascade papermill between Tri-Cities and Walla-Walla, WA. Less photoshop going on then it appears!

Thanks Joe, I didn't say no photoshopping! Just less than it looks. It's not HDR, but I did add a graduated filter in lightroom, boosted the exposure on the mill, and punched the saturation and clarity up just a bit.

I'm just an amateur, but like the idea of having a watermark to throw on pictures I put out on the net. I was wondering if I could get some feedback on the 3 options I put on this photo. I found these guys using a winch in Puerto Rico a couple weeks ago.

Thanks for the input you guys, you both agreed with my wife. Font #1 is called Jellyka, End_less Voyage (there is a similiar Jellyka, Estrya's Handwriting which also is interesting...) What I'd like to have for a logo is some type of stylized helix...but alas, I have about 0 creative talents in the manual arts
