I feel like I've asked a lot of nostalgic questions around here lately so I'll keep the trend going. Does anyone here remember Christy Smith? This is actually someone's user name on here which reminded me of her. This chick was doing hs handle pass mobes in competitions back in the late 90's/early 2000. I actually googled her name and found her on top of the "1998 Pro Water Ski and Wakeboarding Tour Standings". Never really knew to much about her but remember seeing her on ESPN years ago and thinking it was crazy she was doing hs handlepass mobes (which to my knowledge no girls are even doing today, much less in a comp). Anybody know why she disappeared?

I remember her, she rode for O'Brien and she was good!

Don't know what happened to her though.

From what I have heard she decided to take on the family path, and has started a family. Kinda hard to do Hs handle pass mobes while you are 9months pregnant.

Yes, she was the first female to do a mobius in competition. EXCELLENT RIDER!!! She would help judge the Arkansas INT riders when she wasn't training but, like Alessandro said, she took the the family path. I would say anyone who was wakeboarding in the late 90's and early 2000's knew the Smith family. They are some of the nicest people you'll ever be fortunate enough to meet.

I will second what Ronnie said, the Smith's are some of the nicest people around. Christy was super cool, glad to hear she's doing well.

David, I think it's a different Christy Smith that has the username on WW.

I was transplanted to Arkansas about 3 years ago and hear stories of her awesomeness. Apparently she and Jeremy Baker were the bomb on our lake when they rode out there...Jeremy still is when he rides.

I met her years ago at a wakeboard contest my kids rode in. She is a very nice girl and my kids thought it was cool we had the same name. She was hanging out and cheering on the group of competitors from Arkansas.

I see Christy every year at the boat show with her family. She sort of keeps quiet but still checks out all the new product. I've met her once and she seems like a very nice person.

I saw Christy at the Boat Show in Little Rock this past Spring. She seemed a little embarrassed that I recognized her. She was enjoying the show with her family.
I used to ride with a group at Monroe back when Robert Southworth was just a kid. I wonder how many inverts he mastered before he was 4 feet tall?
Haha.
