I have a '02 Malibu VLX. I bought it towards the end of last summer, so I haven't had a lot time to play around with the weight distribution. Just curious what some of you have found to be the best way to weight the VLX to get that perfect wake?

I have a 540# launch sack on each side of motor, 120# lead on passenger side, 500# MLS in ski locker, and a 400# locker sack on top of MLS, and we don't use the wedge. Nice big wake! Add six people and it's STUPID HUGE!

I just helped my buddy swap out the Malibu hard tanks with the 540# launch pads. It's probably a three hour job and totally worth it.

The MLS with an extra 250 lb sack on each side of the motor and about 500 lbs of lead or a sack in the bow should do great. That would be a total of about 1900 lbs. You can add more weight to the front if that isn't sufficient.

Cleared for takeoff!

Thanks for the info, I'm gonna have to play around with that. I use the internal MLS and a fat sac up front (on top of the ski locker) and two side sacs in the back, one on each side. I have been told that adding some Leadheadz or something similar helps a ton.
