Don't want to cough up enough yet for the WS420 but was wondering if anybody had a recommendation for a cheaper multi band equalizer with multiple RCA outputs and a aux in. Not that big of a deal just wanted to see if anybody had one.

Clarion EQS746

doesn't have 2-zone eq, but is inexpensive. good reviews too.

J, i run that exact eq with my setup. Im running the xmd3 head unit the wetsounds syn2 to my pair of pro80's and pro60's with no distortion problems that i can hear.

I think what John means is that EQ's often times can point out faults in our system that otherwise go unnoticed. This is typically because of the line drivers.

hate how is goodwin for old farts like me with families? think i could camp there with a couple families and have a good time, or is it just a zoo?

Like Hate says, they do tend to boost distortion. I am using a WS-420 in mine, but all the eq settings are pretty much flat, along with bass/treble on the head unit.

Upgrade to a better HU and lose the eq, like everyone mentioned they will boost distortion/noise in your system typically.

Alpie makes some very good HU with higher output voltage and great eq abilities.

It's typically pretty damn good up here but on the weekends here and there it can get busy, not real bad but busy. If you wanna ride it's mornings or late unless it's the middle of the week then midday is fine. We have mostly been surfing the last couple summers which we can do pretty much anytime occasionally it's to rough for that but thats rare. It's a fun lake and I haven't had to much trouble with loud music, got yelled at once but never since. There is one camping area at the state park and one or two RV/camping places around the lake. A bar and grill across the street and a little store to get whatever and gas up.

right on, thanks. we and most of our friends have young kids and were looking for somewhere close by to do a little car camping and boating. we usually head to eastern washington a few times a year and then the rest of the time we're on samm. he pulled up some info on goodwin and thought it sounded like a neat spot and fairly close. anything to watch out for in the water? stumps, rocks, sandbars, etc? does the state park have decent facilities? thanks for the reply hate.

Bruce if you think goodwin looks nice you should check out lake Samish up near bellingham, that lake is awesome. Always good water up there as it sits in a valley, it's actually a pretty large lake as well. I'd say it's about the same size as sammamish but way calmer. I'm going to hit it this year, I drive by it all the time just haven't made it up there yet.

Not really bruce there is a couple things but you'd have to be driving blind to hit em their very clearly marked or just not in an area where you'd drive. I don't really know much about the facilities at the state park prolly just like most.

Sammish has always looked good to me too, never really see any boats on it but it seems like it might get a little less sun being in a valley like it is. I think the Ennen bros honed their skills on it amongst other places up north. I've heard Whatcom is good too but its a ways up there.

surely they cant be that bad it seems like the line boosters would help and people love the ws420

Most stereo noise is due to an improper installation an wiring. The noise is already there but is then amp'd by a device like an EQ. If done right, the benefits of the line driver out weigh the negatives $.02.

Like Mike said just do the instal of your system properly and you will only benefit from the EQ. I dont even need my HU anymore.

I like my head unit, no matter how much it sucks. With a transom remote when we're rafted up (75% of the time), the only thing that makes me go back in teh boat is to get cold drink.

If you get that Clarion make sure you keep it dry, I went through 2 of them before I decided to toss it and just get a better head unit. I'm with jonyb, I use the transome remote all the time, and have full control of the system from the back of the boat...not the best but it sounds good to me.

Yeah not being able to use my transom remote kinda sucks. Oh well theres good and bad to almost everything I guess.

I also use my transom remote just before a set when I'm going in the water. Find the song I want, turn it up, jump in.
