Arizona?

Ok I am planning a week long board trip to Arizona in mid April. Where would I find some what warm water that doesn't have a ton of boat chop. Someone said Havasu but I heard that place gets way to crowded. Any suggestions from you locals that live down there? I don't care about night life just want to get a nice board trip in before the warm weather hits up here in Denver.

Sayraro (s.p.?) was good for us last winter, we moved down for like 3/4 months... it got warm by march, the weekends got a little crazy but it was one of the most fun lakes I've ever been on, with all the cliffs and stuff there is always some butter, it was a big lake but the way it snaked water stayed calm... Easy access and good roads to and from, its just outside of Meza/Phx

ur best beat would be to try to stay some where around scottsdale which is a nice area with good places to stay and has fun things for the whole family. U could then go to a couple of different lakes. Bartlett lake is usually ur best bet for lakes that are close to the town. U could also go to sahuaro like nick mentioned which is close to town but usually a little busier than bartlett. The best lake with the best water is apache imo. It is a hell of a drive to get to usually takes 2 hours and is one lane alot of the way, so make sure u are experienced with towing. The lake is always dead it is a little deeper so it will be colder but the glass will make up for it. Ur from denver so anything here will feel warm to u so ur good to go. Hope this helps, there are also a couple of forums similar to this so i would look at those too.

Brett forgot to mention that the road to Apache is single track dirt, with dust/washboarding/washouts/steep inclines etc, all the stuff that boatowners don't like to tow on.

Saguaro is ok, usually busy so don't expect a lot of butter. Bartlett is better, as is Apache, Canyon and Roosevelt. The latter 3 would prob be cooler than Saguaro and Bartlett. I have had reasonable conditions at Pleasant as well.

If you're there in mid April then Saguaro should be good on the weekdays. Are you planning to camp or to get a hotel? If you hotel it then find one near Saguaro and you'll have about a 20 minute drive. (There is also an Indian Casino/Hotel out by it that would probably give you a shorter drive.)

Canyon will probably be the coldest of the lakes in mid April since it has been down 50 feet and they are now filling it back up from the dam at Apache Lake. (Dams suck water from down low so it will be filled up with really cold water.)

you can come to lake martinez in yuma. heck even in the middle of the summer there are rarely boats out during the week. that time of year there will be limited traffic on the weekends. you can stay within 25 minutes of the river or rent a place down at hidden shores for a reasonable rate in april

I am dying to get out. Got a brand new Sanger 215 in the garage that hasn't been out yet. The lakes are all frozen here!

Saguaro is around 50 degress. Went out last week and saw 1 other guy riding. maybe 10 guys fishing along the sides. Id say saguaro, about 40 minute drive from Tempe or around chandler.

Burn go to yuma and try to ride midweek and you will not be disapointed. Alan hows it going down there?

If your up near the Utah boarder I would suggest going to Powell... granted it will be a bit chilly compared to the ones near phoenix. Every wakeboarder diserves to go to Powell at least once in a life time... hopefully more.

95% of powell is in Utah, but the main marina- Wahweap (and Antelope point too) and the best place to go to be close to "civilization" is the Arizona side near a little town of Page (about 8,000+ people, but still has a super wal-mart)
