I have a 2002 Pro-V. Just starting to try and surf. Only have the stock 700 and was wondering what i should get to get a decent surfwake. I was looking to buy the new ronix telescoping bags but they arent out yet ( might still wait for them they look to fill really fast ) but iwanted to know how big should i go? I got some racks for the boards ( thanks Piper) so the lockers are empty.
I also made a surfgate bolton that i think does pretty well. Should i just go with the big sacs and only fill to what i need or just stick to like 800 or 400?

I couldn't imagine surfing with only 700lbs of ballast. I think bare minimum for me to be able to free ride consistently (I'm 230lbs) is about 1500lbs. I know people who run a lot more, but I'd say if you can, throw in another 700-800lb sack in the back if you don't have 3-4 friends to sit back there too. I know Overtons has a 800lb sumo sack for about $100 shipped.
