Decided to cut 4" off each side of my swimstep in order to keep it from skewing my wave. Thanks for the idea Duffy! I can’t wait to try it out! Here are a few pics!

here is a pic of the bottom, you can see how close the brackets will be. Pretty much took off as much as I could without changing the taper

I did it because the corner was dragging and causing a double lip on my surf wave. You should do it if you think it will help. Guess I should have called it a modification rather then a rebuild. Tools used were a skill saw, band saw, hand planer and a router. Oh yea I also sanded with a palm sander with 150 grit. looks better then new also! I recommend doing the sanding and re-oiling even if you don’t cut it down.

boats coming out of storage next week, and i will post pics of the differences!
