So, went out on the water yesterday and did a little bit of riding. My boat is an 05 launch 21v. After i was done I started draining the bags, one of the pumps has always had draining issues ( it pumps well, then cuts out ) if i play with the switch or mess with the bag I can usually get it going again. But yesterday it cut out when the bag was nearly empty and I started smelling like something was burning.. so I checked all the fluids, engine oil, v drive oil and transmission oil, they were all good and full. The hoses running into the impeller were cold and the gauge said the engine temp was good as well.
When I had the boat home and in the driveway I was searching around to find the culprit of the smell. I started playing with the pump switches. When I hit fill for the right rear pump I can hear it come on, but when I hit empty I heard nothing. I hit the other switches to empty and could hear all of those come on.
I was under the impression that the pumps in my boat did both the drain and fill but maybe I am wrong? and would a burnt out pump give off a burning smell?
