We ride the morning... like 7-9, after that the wind picks up. The first one is around sunrise, the second is about when the lake starts to get a little choppy.

scott- haven't you ever seen twister? in the scene with the water spout and the flying cow, the water is absolute glass. therefore, the logical conclusion is that tornadoes and water spouts cause smooth water.

Here is a weekend afternoon shot last summer on beautiful rough Lake Winnipesaukee. And e on a saucer, a +/- 40" diameter disc of marine plywood. Cruising speed on ths bad boy is a whopping 9 mph. Oh, old boat too, pulling from the regular pylon due to the load!
