I work in the construction industry, often in remote sites, and it amazes me that most guys on the job have next to nothing for serious first aid. 2 weeks ago I cut myself with a chisel and without my first aid kit I would have been in trouble pretty quick. Yesterday a guy fell about 10' off of some scaffold and smashed his face into the rocks. I got my kit and administered first aid, picked up his teeth and drove him 35 min. to an urgent care clinic.

I am looking for a good source of first aid supplies to add/replenish my kit. I am not looking for Hello Kitty band aids and Bactine, but looking for gauze, trauma pads first aid for burns, instant ice packs etc.

Also, does anyone have experience with Celox granules? http://www.celoxmedical.com/eur/eurp...celoxgranules/

Thanks and be safe.

Larue Tactical has some great celox products (gauze, granules, and even an injectable applicator). Celox was recommended to me years ago over quick clot by a SF medic. I would recommend celox for any serious med kit.

Diapers are good to have on hand. Smaller disposable ones work great for absorbing fluids from injuries. My wife is an ER nurse and many of them carry diapers in their cars in case they stop to render aid.

Ive found that having sports pre-wrap tape - that meshy type tape that doest stick to your skin, but sticks to itself - is great to have. Plus all types of gauze and tons of sports tape.
When i sliced my foot wide open to the bone a few weeks ago on the water - i got the bleeding to stop and had a serious tape job that lasted 3 hours before i could get to the ER.
Big bottle of hydrogen peroxide too.

Duct tape is helpful to keep around.

Chief has great professional first aid kits along with everything you would need to replenish and add to your existing kits

Super glue... I keep it in all my first aid kits.

Thanks for the input. I never thought about diapers and I do have superglue in the truck at all times. Duct Tape too.

BTW, the guy that fell off the scaffold ended up with a fractured jaw, 4 teeth that were not salvageable and a fractured wrist. Yikes.

Thanks for all the help.
