Bryan, question about setting up the V215

Bryan I know last year you had a sweet V215, and you said that you had figured exactly how to dial it up for wakesurfing.

We essentially had the same boat, can you please let me know exactly what settings you had. From ballast, fat sacks, and perfect pass?

Bryan can't surf

The nice thing about the 215 was we could surf 15 to 20 feet back. I will try and dig up some pics from Bryan's boat.

Here's mine and the results are a sick ass wake that sub 200lb riders can ride 15-20' back.



The results, we have since got it even more dialed in and moved one of the 400lb sacks stacked in the V locker and put more weight up front to displace more water which has elongated the wake.

This picture is ok but it really is waist high for roughly 12' back tapering to knee high to 20-22' back.



The boat is on a pretty serious list (sp). The swim platform is buried by 6" on one side and a few inches out of the water on the other. The rub rail also need's to be under water when sitting on the sun pad I've been washed off a few times.

Hate N Pain that is quite the setup. I am not sure that I would want that many sacks in the seating area, but man that wake looks nice. What speed are you running at? And I bet u guzzle the gas.

We run on the slow end between 9.8-10.5 but my buddy and I were talking about trying to ride a little faster closer to 12. We figure if we get the bow down more then we should be able to displace more water which should allow this.

If you want a truely epic wake you have to push the limit hence the reason for the sacks every where. I'm working on a system that would have most of the sacks under the floor but I'm certain we'll still stack em tall even after the in hull system is done. The more people you have on the boat the less you have to sack it out so in the instance where you want seating space you'll likely not need so many sacks.

I've talked to Bryan a few times about how he set his V215 up and it was pretty extreme even more so than mine. Hopefully you have some ideas and you can start playing with it.

Coop, every time I take a look at your profile pic with your boat slammed it makes me wanna ride that. How do you set your's up? I do 400 in each locker 500 center with the 370 tube running up through the bow and the 750 right in the middle of the floor.

2 quick questions for all you Sanger guys...

1. I bought 2 FLY HIGH 750's to replace the stock tanks in our 07 V230. I need to pick up some of the barbed fitting to attach the stock lines to the sack. Can anyone tell me how the system works? 1 fill line, 1 drain line, and 1 over flow line I assume? Therefore I would need 3 fitting for each sack? All 3/4 inch? This is how my buddies Malibu was and it was a piece of cake to replace his tanks with 750's

2. Is there a market for the hard tanks that I will be pulling out? If so I would love to sell them to help finance my other boat projects!

sorry for the let response i have been on a 72 hr shift little beat and cant wiat to get out of here and head for spring ride. HnP is right i ran my boat to the limit, i had the bildge working on that boat.

here was the set up.

-surf side rear tank full = 250#
-remove the carpet backer board that blocks the stern and drop a 750# bag in there and fill it to the max...just know you will crush the hard tank if you dont fill it first.
-center ballest full = 500#
a 750# bag filled on floor long ways shoved to the back and on the surf side.
-a 1000# bow triangle bag full, and place it on top of the sat in the L bend and on top of the 750 bag, it fits nice!
-an extra 200 # in lead in the bow surf side.
-driver weight is fine sitting in seat on regular foot side but i always sit over to the surf side and reach.
1 passenger on surf side up on the deck under the tower to get that extra list
10-10.5 mph and BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well you guys certainly don't hold back on weighting them down. I haven't even purchased any sacks yet, but i don't want to run out and buy 2500 pounds worth of weight. Is there an intermediate setup that i can put together knowing that it won't be the best wake, but it will be satisfactory.

get a crew of 10 200# on average peeps and try to borrow a couple sacks
remember weight the outside toward the middle. weight in the back makes the wake bigger. more weight up front makes it longer. the more list the cleaner the face.

you will want to surf around 9.5 to 10.5 just start with as much weight in the back corner as possible and the start moving it forward to clean it up.

If any of you have removed the stock hard tanks and replaced them with sacks, do you think you could shoot me an PM or post on here how many barbed fitting I need to purchase? I really want to put the order in today

I have a follow up question,

As I have mentioned, I haven't purchased any sacks yet, so the only weight I have in it is the stock ballast. Now I have played around with the ballast trying to get a clean wake, and I have had trouble getting a clean wake unless I am going around 14 mph. Is this because I need more weight? If I add lbs, will it clean the wake up at lower speeds, or am I just doing a terrible job with the weight? Is 14 mph way too fast to surf at? I hope these questions aren't too stupid.

14mph is too fast...even with a bunch of additional weight. Have you calibrated your speedo/pp with gps? More weight up front should help you get a cleaner wake at slower speeds. When you buy sacks, look into the Fly High 400's of 750's for the rear!

You should be able to get a clean wake if you are on list no matter the weight. We always speed up to about 12 the wake cleans up and then slow down to desired riding speed at which time the rider pulls himself/herself into the wave.

Get the Fly High V drive locker sacks to start so you can put one in the locker with stock ballast (650 total) and one up front on the surf side then just put all your passengers on the surf side seats, sun pad and even swim platform. The last two aren't legal so only do it when there or no cops around. We also almost always have someone hanging off the tower.
