This is our 3rd time out. We're getting the port side dialed in pretty good. The starboard side is another story. We need help with it. It's very washy. (Message edited by mhetheridge on June 24, 2007)

How far forward are those fins? Does that give that board that much more drive?

So that's how Chase blasts those huge airs -- that board looks like a mini thruster. Fins look to be big - around 4 inches -- and as Matthew said quite a bit forward from the tail... Jeff, my hunch is that the only way Chase can spin on that board is by taking flight...

Jeff, CHASE SAID jAMES WAS DOING SOME NICE 3'S YESTERDAY ON THE NEW BOARD. HAVE ANY PICS OF HIM DOING THEM? IT IS A MAJOR MISCONCEPTION ONE HAS TO GIVE UP DRIVE TO DO SURFACE TRICKS. AND YES, ALL STIXX ARE AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THRUSTERS.THE MORE TURNS YOU MAKE, THE FASTER THEY GO. FIN PLACEMENT IS VITAL!. FAR ENOUGH BACK TO DRIVE, FAR ENOUGH FOWARD TO BE LOOSE. TOOK YEARS OF R+D TO GET IT TO OUR LIKING...AND STILL TWEEKING...ALWAYS. QUIT TWEEKING,STOP PROGRESSING. OUT FOR THE DAY, GONE TWEEKING. JEFF,IF YOU AND THE FAM WANT TO COME BACK OUT ,YOU CAN LEAVE THE BOAT AND RIDE WITH US. PICK YOU UP AT BULL FROG, CALL CELL. BE THERE NOONISH.

Hey Jerry, I'm going to do a little write up of the board with pics later this morning. Got a ton of pics with everyone on it. Jerry, do you know the name of that one young surfer, the bodyglove sponsored rider...blonde hair, well manner, came up from San Diego, rides goofy? You should have seen the backside snaps he was ripping - would have jarred my teeth out if I was trying them. I think his first name was Charley. Yeah, James had only ridden that board for about 2 minutes and was doing surface 3's. Surface 3's are about technique, not about looseness. Folks that are struggling (like yours truly ) immediately think that smaller, or no fins are the key. That really isn't the case. James can spin just about anything - even a 6'2" thruster. Length of the board has more of an impact than the thruster configuration. Of course Chase looked good with his threes also...he's really stepping up his game. Jerry I'd love to go (and thanks for the invite), but it's end of the month, my staff get all cranky if I don't do payroll for them. Have fun out there!

LOL - so when I am at the California Labor Relations Board hearing I will quote you: On the advise of a respected manufacturer I chose to: "DON'T PAY'EM , FIRE'EM AND COME RIDE!!!!!!" and ask that these silly claims be dismissed. You know what? I bet when I am done, I will have all SORTS of free time to ride...probably no boat or boards or even food, but FREE TIME by the tons

Jerry / Jeff very cool on the spins... thanks for clarifying - definitely wouldn't have guessed that based on the size... Jerry - are you guys carried by anyone in Austin anymore? Would love to try Chase's model. I talked to Billy at Austin Surf Co a few months ago and he had shut down. Looking at all these pics is really getting me jonesin' for some riding. Here in Austin all the lakes are currently shut down due to major flooding!

these are the only pics I have to post right now... these are of the ramp and park where we usually launch... Lake Austin is closed (along with many other lakes in the Austin area since last Weds and possibly through the coming weekend due to major flooding and debris in the water.

Nice new JaMako Johnboy. You're riding your old Stixx too, it looks like. I thought that your 200 pic's count was huge, untill Bre burned a DVD of this past weekend. James took 1,463 pictures. Sheesh.
