This talk has been going on for years and years now and yet no park. Has anyone heard any legitimate word about there being a park. If I were a LARGE company (HYPE, CWB,LF exc.) I would send some funds in the cali way. This state generates so much money in the sport. All it will do is bring more riders to the sport. And profit to the companies.

Where would snowboarding be with out the parks? We need a park so bad! this post reflects how board I am on a sat. b/c the lake is to crowded to ride at.

yea you would think so especially since we have one in south Texas ,two and a half hours from DFW area and now they are already far into the building stages of a new one in Oklahoma which BTW is only two and a half hours North of DFW(dallas/fort worth) .

i guess they feel we do more then Cali for wakeboarding jk :-)

From my knowledge, someone has put together a business plan with estimates on all the necessary costs and incomes, but with the price of real estate, and the tendency to sue, insurance and overhead land costs will never permit a cable park in california. Maybe Nevada, id drive from sac.

I love cable wakeboarding. You can do everything you can do behind the boat and more. I see it getting really big in the next decade.

rumors about one in the greater sac area (nor cal). there's a lot more of these in the works than you guys imagine. i've also heard about one in so cal, but i can't remember where. it takes a few million to get one going, and the roi isn't good enough to sell to normal investors, so it basically takes someone who loves wakeboarding and also has a lot of cash, or spare land in the right location (i.e. TSR), and then some cash on top of that.

the major companies don't need to invest in normal cable parks, because they just work sponsorship deals with the rental stuff, or help build rails and they get their name all over. they might think about it in some tourist mecca, but outside of that there's just no real need to drop that kind of money (business wise).

I still say reno or vegas would be the best place for one on the west coast, at least to get it started.

Reno Hilton gets my nomination, screw the aquarange, the lake is already there, as with the tourists.

Prices tend to be about the same as going snowboarding. You can also get season passes just like in snowboarding. It is a blast on the cable but it is quite a bit different than behind a boat.

OOps forgot the prices.

Here are the prices from a florida cable park:

Cable Passes

2 Hours - $27.00
4 Hours - $33.00
All Day Pass - $40.00
Weekly Pass - $185.50

KIDS (16 and under)
1 Hour - $19.00
2 Hours - $25.00
4 Hours - $30.00
All Day Pass - $36.00

Month, 6 Month, Annual Passes
1 Month............ $350.00
6 Month............ $600.00
Annual Pass....... $999.00

Schools, Church Groups, Youth Organizations
10-19 People............ $18 per person
20-39 People............ $15 per person
40+ People.............. $12 per person
* This is for a 4 hour pass. Extra time is an additional $2 per person. Group rates are available from open till 3:00 pm.

Cable Rent

If one of these gets started, I think that the prices would be even more expensive.

pricey... I would rather buy gas for the boat

TSR's annual pass is $750 and they also offer payment plans. They're also open all year round except for december. I think most spend a lot more the $750 annually on gas, boat pmt, insurance, etc..etc...etc.

Vegas is where is should be at and it could be on the east end of Lake Las Vegas. i personally think it would be a gold mine here. the lake is already there and there are like 4 hotel/casinos there as well. i have no idea who owns the lake but they only allow like 5hp motors so it is always glassy.

only down side is that it is very rich/snobby area, maybe we can contact celine dion or someone with her pull to get it thru

There was a thread a week or two ago about the one in San Diego going out to bid. That is a very good sign.
