I need to locate my heater core in my 2000 X-star? Never had to mess with it much, and I believe it's time for a new one.

I suspect a leak in it, and my heat hasn't been too hot!!

Any info would be great before I go blindly lookin for it.

THANKS.

Most likely, it's underneath the starboard bow seat cushion.

When they leak, you know. Your boat starts to fill with hot water.

I have replaced at least four in mine. It's pretty easy. You will need a rivet tool and drill.

Thanks Matt.

Under the floor, correct?

Never tried to remove the floor panel. Is it just screwed in from the top...or????

No, under the seat cushion. Towards the rear of the compartment. It's a metal box with two wires and two hoses (probably 12" x 6"). Not under the floor panel at all. If that's not where it is, just follow the hoses that the heat comes out of or the hot water hoses running from the engine.

Got a replacement heater core from Auto Zone for $15.99...and it has a lifetime warrenty. Can't beat that!

You don't even want to know what a marina charges for the core....

Thanks again!

The reason many people are having high failures is because the hoses are not being properly supported. Make sure there is no pressure on the hoses in any direction.
