I have been looking at few boards and they all talk about rocker styles. What is this? I have heard of 3 stage rocker and full rocker. How do they benefit you? Thanks in advance.

Rocker is how much the board is bowed from tip to center of the board. Continuous/full rocker is a single arc from tip to tip. The Hyperlite Belmont uses a continuous rocker. This is generally considered a more stabile, forgiving configuration. It gives a nice consistant edge.

3 stage rocker has a flat spot in the middle, and arc'd from the flat spot to the tips. Hyperlite Premier and Parks both utilize 3 stage rocker. The size of the flat spot in the middle, as well as the amount of bow in the arcs differentiate these boards. The flat spot on the Premier is only a few inches long. The Parks flat spot is really big - around a foot. This is why people say the Parks is "so different" from other boards. Generally speaking the flat table on a 3 stage rocker makes the board feel a little (or a lot) slippier.

The 3 stage will give you more pop, "kick you straight up into the air" in the case of the Parks for a lot of people make them go out of control. In my opinion you need to be a good rider to take advantage of the Parks, it needs to be ridden very aggressively. If you don't it will throw you around. When you put it on edge, you need to PUT IT ON EDGE!

My friend a beginner/approaching intermedtiate "again in my opinion" went wrong when he purchased the Parks thinking he would grow into it as he got better, but I think it has actually slowed his progression.
