So after a year of repairing chips and rust on my trailer I have decided to either repaint it or try something new (to me) and put rino liner on it. Have any of you guys ever tried this? What do you think?

If I do rino line it, I would probably do just the finders and steps (this is where most of the chips and rust are located), but I might go all out and do the whole thing.

I've done a jetski trailer rack. Worked great.

Cliff Griffin from here has the fenders of his SAN trailer linexed. He also linexed pretty much the whole trailer on his old Moomba. I actually owned that boat for a while and I really liked it. It is easy to clean and you don't have to worry about the little chips or scratches.

Seems like a lot of effort to me, especially on a newer trailer. Paint it a color that won't show chips, and dont' worry about it. The trailer is a functional thing, is it really worth all the effort to keep it in PERFECT show condition? I say touch up major chips, and let it be

I've never had a trailer of any kind that looked very good for more than a couple years. Boat trailers, campers, utility trailers, quad trailers, whatever, they all get chipped up no matter what they are painted with.

If having yours look perfect is necessary, then go for it. I've been thinking about doing it to my quad trailer, which take a lot more abuse than most any boat trailer does.

I don't know if that is functional, but I think that would look sick, especially if you could diamond plate chrome the fenders. I am not sure if that is possible with rhino lining.

I would say it is more function over form. Maybe I am off base here but I don't think it is as good looking as a painted trailer but you can beat the of comparitively speaking.

I don't know if there is much effort to it. Take it to the Rhino or linex dealer. Give them money and get it back.

I thtink it would be a good idea. Keep in mind that the liner will fade over time being out in the sun. I have seen several truck beds turn gray (from Black), pink (from Red, etc.

$$$$ very expensive. we dont have it on out boat. but its pricey on the bed of a truck it would most likely cost a fortune for the trailor. it would look cool if it was colored though

I like Linex better than Rhino. I have had Linex on my truck bed for a few years and it doesn’t look faded. It is expensive ($500 to do my truck), but it holds up well and will give you a non-slip surface. Don’t know about heat issues for bare feet.

I'm going to do my fenders this summer after I put the boat in the water. I've got a couple of friends that have done it and it looks good.

Does anyone have some pics they could put up so I can see some different options?
