Conversion rate for different ballasts

I know there was a post for the amount of weight of water per gallon. It is around 8lbs. Well I was wonderwing what gas, lead, sand, and any other ballast types weighs per gallon.

Do a search on google for specific gravity. The specific gravity of a substance is it's relationship to water in the form of density or weight.

Gallon of Water = 8.33 lbs
Gallon of Gas = 6.5 to 8.3 lbs
Gallon of lead = ~95 lbs (l x w x h x 0.411) in inches
One Gallon = 231 cubic inches

Here is the easiest way to do it:

Formula that you need to use is (lbs/cu. ft. of material) * .1339(cu. ft. of a gallon) = weight of gallon of the substance.

Dry Sand = 100 lbs/cu. ft. * .1339 cu ft = 13.39lbs
Wet Sand = 16.06 lbs

By the way, you will have to divide the values on this page by 16.02 to convert them from Kg/cu.m.
