inboard prop pitch question.

Currently running a 13x13. Looking for more holeshot (I'm running about 1250lbs of ballast), I'm also in the mtns ~6,500 ft. I've been seeing them pop up on ebay every once in while really cheap.

The question is will a prop of 12x12 have more low end or top end than a 16x16?

With a 12x12 you would have more holeshot but a smaller diameter prop. You could take the prop you have now and have the pitch on it changed to 12 giving you a 13x12.

I'd do at least a 13x12 with your alt. and ballast.

I run near sea level, 1500# of ballast and a 13x11.5 Acme three blade. Love it, great hole shot and holds speed very well on a DD Cal-Air.

Check with Acme, their 3 blade props are great.

I HAVE A 13X12 ACME THREE BLADE. I DO NOT REALLY LIKE. I HAVE 1500# OF BALLAST.
MY QUESTION IS IF I WENT TO A 13X13 OR 14X13 FOUR BLADE WOULD IT HELP LIGHTEN THE LOAD ON MY ENGINE AND PULL ME OUT OF THE WATER FASTER.
MY RPMS COME UP FAIRLY FAST TO 3000 BUT IT TAKES ALONG TIME TO PLAIN.

Maybe one of the Tige owners will help, but sounds like you need more weight in the front of the boat.

Lower pitch = more torque (able to pull more weight, lower top end)

Higher pitch = higher top end (less torque, able to pull less weight)

Remember to keep WOT in the engine's operational RPM range
