I got a ton of waterspots on the boat from leaving it in the water last weekend. I used Meguires Hard Water Spot Remover and it worked like a charm. Follow the directions or it does not work as well. It acts pretty much as a stripper so you will need to be prepared to wax it right after you are done. Just thought I would share cause I know many are looking for a good product.

Dennis,
I use a similar mix for each wipe down after we pull it out of the water, but it won't really pull out real stubborn hard existing water spots. Works good for pulling it out of the water and getting the fresh spots though...

The vinegar/water trick didn't do a thing for me. i'll try the Meguires i guess.

Diggs, did The Meguires completely remove the spots for you?

I tried Meguires after a week at Shasta and it did a very good job, but when I looked closesly the outline of the spots were changed from white to Dark grey, barely noticable, but still there.

I am sure I probably could have worked it harder though.

yeah it completely removed them and I did not even work that hard... some of the spots were harder than others. it was real important to follow the instructions for best results.
-spray on and let it sit for 30 seconds (not in the sun and don't let it dry)
-rub it around with some good elbow grease and don't let it dry
-dry it with a dry towel and elbow grease

it does strip the finish so I washed it afterwards and will be waxing it tonight....

We use a 50/50 mix of Windex/Vinegar. Like a champ! 50/50 Water/Vinegar can't hold a candle to it.

Tried that one too(vinegar/windex)and again nothing! Tried a spray-n-wipe, soaking and scrubbing. Squat happened.

It seems like water/vinegar works fine applied and wiped down at the dock.

Meguires has done the best for me after the fact.

WOW! Now that is some seriously hard water! Stubborn is an understatement. I guess I better pick up some hard water spot remover for the tough ones.

Toilet bowl cleaner! works better then anything else I have used, including cut polish. Just need to wax afterwards.

I had hard water spots that were on my boat when I purchased it. Tried it all, 50/50, rubbing compound etc. I used Zep formula 50--all gone. It does require sealing and waxing after using. Boat now shines like the show room.

Little secret, add some Calgon water softener to diluted Windex and hard water spots disappear.
