IWSF changes name to include wakeboard

Within the last couple hours I have got several calls and email. Looks like wakeboarding finally took it's position. This is a very big step and I am proud of their decision.

"Just now finished world congress of IWSF - International Waterski Federation which was held in Canada. And the most interesting issue on this congress was changing of the name. After years and years fighting to get equal position with waterskiing, wakeboarding finally got its name in IWSF. From today the name of this world federation will be International Wakeboarding & Waterskiing Federation (IWWSF)!

They needed 75% of votes! And they got more than 80%. From 149 votes in the congress, only 17 were versus and 132 for!

Today’s day will definitively get into the history!"

The affiliation of the following new Federations was welcomed : Monaco, Kuwait, Malaysia, Taiwan and Indonesia – and the Indonesia delegate was welcomed to Congress for the first time"
