Yea I know they are gay and they screw up the water and they terroize many of us but I had to see what they were all about.

Andreas has 3 of them. The Sea-Do RXP's they have a 1500cc motor with 215 hp stock, Thats right a 4 cylinder supercharged inner-cooled power plant. His have been tweeked out to 300 HP
and yes they haul a$$. I jumped on one and could not believe how much pull they have. The first thing you notice is the spooling noise of the supercharger and when you let off the gas you can hear the extra boost being let off like a turbo's waste gate. I have ridden lots of fast street bike's and thought the pull of the RXP was like the rush of a nice street bike in first and second. these things rocket all the way up to 76 MPH in just second's. Its easy to see how people get killed on these. I quickley had respect for them if your a speed junky I can see how people fall in love with them. And no Im not getting one but they are cool. I still hate when they mess up my water but I now know what they are thinking, LOL so if you have one come out of the closet

Yea I could see if your ski only went like 45 mph it would get pretty boring pretty quick. But these things are so fast at top speed they keep you on your toe's

I like them for about 30 minutes. Then I kind of run out of things to do. You can break yourself. I threw my girlfriend and I off of one. Broke her leg and gave her a black eye.

I have respect for the serious stand up riders. Those guys break themselves like wakeboarders. I don't mind throwing a meaty surf wake for a stand up rider to hit.

I have been riding stand ups for 14 years or so, and still have two of them. Glad to hear most boarders dont classify stand ups, and the couches in the same regard. It takes some real skill to get good, and freestyle a stand up.

I have one and it is fun as can be. I use it to swap boat passengers from shore and the boat. It is also a good distraction for the people that can't get the hang of wakeboarding.

Even though I hate those things I still own an old one. Unfortunately my wife loves to toodle around the Delta on it so I can't get rid of it. You can always tell her on the river, shes the one riding the old lime green one looking like she's got a 2X4 up her A$$ going a constant 25 mph.

She does try not to ruin anyone's water though!

I'm actually thinking of getting one for my 60 year old mom.

The stand-up takes skillz and dedication to get good and in no way classified as the sit down one's.

Jrod,I can't wait to have my stand up in the water when you are actually surfin.....it sure will be fun whenever it happens.

I agree the stand ups are great. I use to race them before I got married and had kids. I sold my race ski and bought my first wakeboard boat with the proceeds....

"you wont see me surfing..ESPECIALLLY NOT DOWN VICTORIA"

Is there a hidden messsage in the above?

Not so hidden I guess.

Hey, I saw you at Reno. By the time I came looking for you, you were gone. Did Chris go?

I had some ass hat on a jet ski jumping My wakes while surfing and He fell about 20-30 feet away from My downed rider.

I gave him hell and He replied...Why are You getting so pissed ? I was like 30 feet away from Your rider ! I had My wife and friends on board so I just let it go.

So what's the legal distance anyways ?

I believe 200ft at pulling speeds, the sheriff ran us down last year for passing between a downed rider and shore... prolly about 75 feet from both.
Old     (jarrod)      Join Date: May 2003       08-01-2006, 9:23 AM Reply
Unfortunately at the Delta, it's hard to stay 200 feet from anyone or anything. I don't think 75 feet would bother me.

Yeah and whatever you do don't ride them full throttle and then decide to let off the gas. Especially if you have had a little to drink :-(

I got on one that was stock over the 4th.....insane quick. It's an odd sound to hear a supercharger under your seat.

That is at Oceanside. Not to many places where that is still legal. Oceanside, a couple spots in San Diego, and Pismo are about it. I still get down there every once in a while. Upload
