How much weight in the Sanger of the wake pics? That wake is pretty sick!!!!
And what is the difference between a SangAir and for example V210 and a Ski Sanger??
And are the models pretty much the same from 1998 till now?

I think the Sanger had 2k of ballast in it. The SangAir is a direct drive boat, same hull but with the motor in the centre. Both the V210 & the DLX (direct drive version) have ski Sanger on the side. Yes the hull hasn't changed since 95 or 96.

I like the boat & wake... Mucho. But the decals are not my taste, at the other hand seems the interior nice and smooth...

Our dealer here who sells sanger and malibu said it is the same size wake as a malibu sunsetter with the wedge down and the sanger having no weight. The wake is outstanding with minimal weight and very good with no weight. I ride with a 70 pound sac in the floor locker and it is great. When i am out with the buds we put another 600 on top of it. Killer.

My boat is still waiting to be dispatched, it's like the one above but with out the chequers, and has a blue tower. So far I only have some dark photos to peer at longingly.

I have been on several different Sangers and will confirm that the wake is very nice even with little to no weight. The Sanger V-210 is one of my favorite wakes.

The Sanger does have a great wake. The boat will take a lot of weight. Put in 2500 lbs and kick up the speed and the wake is huge. They must have been riding near 21 or 22 mph to get it that big. Nice boats, not a lot of frills, handles very well around the dock/ idle speeds. I am just not too thrilled about Merc engines.

Tom, those photo's are accurate..That's no doubt the size and shape of a V-210 wake with about 2k lbs. It does look like he's riding 21-22 mph because the wake in the 2nd and 3rd pic appear be on the cusp of rolling over.

Where do you put the 2k lbs to get that wake? This last week I had a 400 lb. locker sac, 550 lb bag on top of that and then 2 side sacs for another 500+ in the back and I was still disappointed with the wake. I rode behind my buddies Super Air Nautique and have never experienced a wake like that in my life. I finally figured out what they mean by "pop" off thw wake. Now I'm in a quest to make my wake like that...how do I do it?

From what I have read, more in the front, less in the back. Most guys are running a 700 pound floor sac, ask ty where to get them from.

I'm running the same sack as Ty which is from Lets Go Ride (LGR). Excellent Quality Sacks (but a little slow to ship when I ordered... I guess there was a back ordered on the 1" nozzles)

If you do end up ordering a LGR sack, take your own measurements. I told the guy I wanted the same sack that Ty had and ended up with monster that has to be folded into thirds just to fit. Not exactly the ideal fit....

I've been trying for 2 weeks to get in touch with Pete from LGR to order the 700 lb sack for my boat...just got back from a week at the lake and was hoping to have it beforehand. Oh well...maybe someday I'll get it. Between that and my existing 400 lb. locker sack on the floor in front maybe that'll do the trick? Anyone???

no kiddng on your sac size. i had to fold mine to get it in. once it filled it expanded open and filled the whole cavity. i wonder what happened with yours. barry and the other guys all fit also.

The beauty of the Sanger is it has something for everybody in the family. Storage for the wife. Sundeck and stereo for baby girl and friends. Somewhat low in the water (which I like) good looking and monster motor(Black Scorpion 330 hp) makes Dad happy and of course the killer wake the boys like. Quite honestly we wakeboard most of the time without the ballast system filled. Love the pictures you folks took, looks great.

i was thinking about the sac size and you have to look farther under. in order to optimize, the measurements at the opeing are at around 23 and 25-26 above the vent pipes. farther up in the bow it moves up to 32-36 inches wide so i split the difference and went 28 wide. it is very snug but should fit great...

You running any lead in the bow to firm up the wake? If not how much ballast would you say you put in the bow as opposed to the rear of the boat? I rode behind a Nautique last night and the wake is MUCH firmer than my Sanger. About the same size and shape though. Nautique was a bit more "peaky". Looking for ways to firm that sucker up.

weight in the bow makes it rampier. weight in the rear makes it steaper. you can put sacs in the back or lead. i am actually getting lead bars for the back currently.

i usually ride with the 700 and a 600 on top of it and it is killer. i like my storage right now for stuff such as lots of beer...

Chris - Considering Sanger's hull design it's optimal to place the weight forward of the driver as Ty recommends. I recommend 60-65% of dead weight (non people) starting the distribution mid-ship (center ski locker) going towards the bow and the remainder in the rear lockers.

300 lbs in each rear locker (total of 600)
450 lbs center locker
300 lbs bow (150 lbs. lead in each of the 2 bow compartments)

In most cases your third will be sitting in the observation seat (again mid-ship) adding anywhere from 110 - 230 lbs and another 2 - 3 people in the rear adding anywhere from 240 - 450 lbs.

You may have noticed that too much weight in the rear of the boat makes it harder drive at the optimal speed. Balancing the weight to the recommended distribution will give you that thicker wake and better drivability.

Just curious what rope length and speed you guys are using? I just got my 96 DLX about a month and a half ago and am still playing with weight,speed rope length etc..

I currently have no sacs cause I was tired of the hassle and mess. So come winter I'll order a sac and use Ty's schematic.

I currently have about 500-600lbs of lead distrubted here:
3x65lb bars under ice chest in floor.
2x65 under front seats.
5x65 under rear seat and wedged next to gas tank.

Does it appear I have too much in the rear?

The wake is crisp and rampy. We've been riding @ 70" at about 20mph, but I have no faith in speedos being anywhere near accurate. Dont have PP. Usually judge by rpms @ 22-2400

I still have a sac and pump so I'll try it in front this we @ Shasta.

Has anybody made a ply pen filler cushion for the bow? I am in the midst and will show you when it's done.

we ride at about 22 mph and 70 feet.

a couple of guys i ride with run at about the same but with more weight and 23-24 mph. it seems like the more weight you have the faster you go by a little...

TY - The sack is 36" x 80" - I guess that explains why it doesn't fit that well...
