Hey all, i am seriously interested in buying this boat. I spoke to the seller on the phone and he said the stringers and floor are in great condition. One soft spot on the floor but he said it was most likely fixable. There is some cracking in the gelcoat under the water line that looks minor but i havent seen it up close. I will have to drive 7hrs to see it so i will buy if i make the drive, I really want a good wake boat and this would be my 1st wake boat. Thanks for any input.

It's a pretty crazy looking boat for sure, but I bet it is well cared for and redone nicely to someone's tastes. It's a pretty damn good deal for a wake ready 2001 and it has a trailer. If you can test it and it runs smoothly and fires right up, I'd say go for it if you don't mind the color scheme etc.

I just bought a bought 14 hours away one way. Leaving Thursday to go get it, if the snow will stop flying. Might be a 20 hour drive one way, but worth it for the right bow.

Looks like a cool boat.

There's only 1 2001 out there that I'll tell anyone and everyone not to buy (because I almost got screwed on it myself). This isn't it. Therefore, buy this bad boy man! The paint job only adds to the old school look! I love it.

BUY IT!

Raymond, that boat looks like it is well cared for. That is a fair price also. You may find one for about 4-5.5k but will need some work. Not sure how long you are going to want to keep this boat but beware it maybe had to sale because of the paint job on it. Im not saying it wont sell but it takes a special person. However I rode behind one this sumer weighed down and I was shocked how big the wake was for that small of a boat. That will be a great first wake boat. Good luck and keep us updated.

That boat is sick! Now grow a giant mohawk and dye it green. The 2001 does throw a nice wake. You will love it.

If you like the scheme definitely buy this boat. It is a great price far all the accessories. I have a '83 2001 that I dished out 5k for that was stock. It was well treated, but for 7k you are getting way more bang for your buck, that is if you do like the color scheme.

well i mentioned something about the gelcoat cracking and there is reason to believe it is from one of the stringers coming loose from the hull.

Yeah, 2001's are notorious for rot. If it has one soft spot, you may be in for a secondary or even full stringer replacement project... BEWARE.

On CCFan somebody mentioned a moisture meter. (8122pbrainard's second post and down) Although he may not let you use it, I'm pretty sure it involves drilling. An easy way is to check the engine bolts. If they don't tighten down, chances are its rotten. If you do buy it, you won't be disappointed with the wake. Dang I type too much.
