So I just had my stereo system installed in my Mastercraft and the stereo shop informed me that my perko switch can't keep up with the current my system is producing, He said he was going to research and try to find one but no luck yet. So my question is for you guys pushing some serious current in your boats what do you use for a switch?

Leave Mastercraft to building boats not stereo's.

Deez nuts
sounds like you you need to use a Battery Separator like this:

I am sure something like this will do the job

Deez nutz,
seriously , your perko will work. Call a boat stereo shop. You don't need anything else.

How much current are you pushing? Most perko switches are plenty for stereo operation (typically 250 to 300 amps continuous). Perko also makes a heavy duty switch that will handle 450 amps. Is your system bigger than this?

I just read up on them and I can't imagine I running more current then what they can handle. I will have to talk to him and see what he tested.
