Our store boat got stolen on Sunday right from the dock at 10 in the morning. Jim went up to the boat and checked on every thing, boat was fine. Went back to the camp site had breakfast walked back up to the dock and boat was gone. I just can't get over the fact that some one did this in the middle of the morning.
So keep an eye on your toys.

Oh man, that sucks. Jim's had some really crappy luck this year with thieves. Firs the boat stereo gets ganked, now the boat. Sorry to hear it. The wake world is definitely not as small and respectful as it used to be. I remember when we just left all our equipment on the boats and didn't think twice.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
Do you have a picture of your boat so we can all keep an eye out for it?

All the stereo is gone and the boat was left floating down the river.

Jim was out at Tiki Lagun camping. The boat sat in the water all night and was fine.

Sorry to hear about that. No question the boat was going to turn up, everyone in the area knows that boat and it sticks out like a sore thumb.

These guys need to be caught, properly weighted, and sent down the river just like Jim's boat.

Yeah, I'll volunteer a few pop bags for around their ankles. That sucks hard. That kind of stuff makes me soo mad. Having to constanly worry about your boat at the dock is lame. A boat really is vulnerable at any time. They don't have any type of theft prevention and they're just tied up. I guess is was just a matter of time before one got stolen off a dock locally. Sucks that it happened to Jim.

What's next? Locking dock lines. Anti-theft systems and locking compartments on boats. It sucks that it's coming to that.

I know you guys have enough boats around that you won't go without, but if you and Jim want to go out while his is under repair give us a call. He recently did up my red Calabria so he has my number.

I recommend a boat alarm. It won't prevent a determined thief, but at least you should get some kind of warning if you are near your boat.

I also agree with bringing your guard dog along on a camping trip. If someone gets anywhere near your stuff, the dog works just like the alarm.

M, do u have a doberman pincher??? I have one!!!
Old     (greg__s)      Join Date: Jul 2004       06-05-2006, 4:18 PM Reply
I just had an alarm installed. While the boat is in the water, I have the sensor turned way down and I have sensors on the doors to get into where the amps are. The blinking red light will detract theives as well.

The alarm cost $300. Worth every penny

Sorry to hear about that. A battery shutoff and a kill switch might discourage that. or a baseball bat.

Cris - No way! Yes, I do have a doberman pincher (she's a blue dobie). That's cool you have one too. She's got a life jacket too.

Damn!! Jim's been having bad luck. Sorry to hear that but glad it's been recovered. I never thought it would come to this but the delta is turnin ghetto. What's next "boat-jack's"?

That sucks, Jim is such a cool guy. I hate to hear this type of news.

I wonder if "the club" on would be effective on a boat...

Why can't somebody catch these idiots in the middle of the act! I'm waiting to walk down to the dock at night and see somebodies feet poking out of my storage...may GOD have mercy on his soul!

We used to launch over at Tiki Lagun a lot. I liked the place, but wouldn't leave an old shoe unattended, let alone a boat.

Tiki Lagun is here: lat=37.9820517929, lon=-121.472217308

Open up the attached "Tiki Lagun.kmz" with Google Earth and it should zoom you right on it.

Sorry, but I'm obsessed with Google Earth..
