hey everyone
I might be getting a 185 searay sport i/o and I was otld the i/o's dont hold a speed for the speed you wakeboard at. i was wondering if you can install perfect pass on an i/o and if you can is it worth it( does it fix the speed problem)

I know you can, but I also know that you will probably have to run in RPM mode to get a consistent pull...

check it out... if after 60days your not happy... full refund... cant beat that can you? try it out, their support for i/o's has come a long way.

the other thing you can do to help speed is go with a lower pitch prop with more blades, I found a 4 blade 18pitch aluminum prop worked well!

garret, my direct drive also needs to be run in rpm mode....

seems like only newer vdrives or boats that arent weighted heavily work well in speed mode IMO.

That said, I LOVE my perfect pass and cant imagine riding without it, and Gordons old I/O with pp worked beautifully in rpm mode.

great choice of boat lol
are you buying new? what engine does it have? and are you getting a tower?
i have the same boat without pp and with a 3 blade prop. its all up to you, if you go with a 4 blade, you will also lose speed. however pp is about 10 times the price.
my boat holds a decent speed if u have a good driver. you just have to find the sweet spot at around 22mph/2800rpm and it will stay there for the whole pull.
send me a personal message if you want to know any specific details
hope this helps your decision!

sam
