You can add PA to this list (see response to my note to PA boat commission below. Any other states so far that have banned it?

The Commission adopted the regulation prohibiting the use of Waterski tow ropes of less than 20 feet at its April meeting. The regulation will go into effect on January 1, 2005.

Start with a 21' rope on the tower and pull in. There is always a way around it.

So, in essence, they have also banned teaching people how to ski or barefoot with a boom off the side of the boat. Seems like they are really throwing out the baby with the bath water.

As far as I know...

Nobody has died from wakesurfing.
And, very few people have been hurt wakesurfing.
Yet, tons of people get hurt wakeboarding, waterskiing, kneeboarding, and tubing.

So, it makes perfect sense to ban wakesurfing.
