Board Upgrade Advice

I'm looking for some advice on what to get for a new wakeboard. I've been riding for a while but I didn't seriously get in to wakeboarding until last year when I got a new boat. My current board is an old Hyperlite that I've had since I can remember - it's at least 10 years old. I'm not really sure what I'd classify my skill level as, but I can land wake-wake backrolls and 180s. I'm 6'3" 170lbs and I ride strictly behind the boat. I'm looking to keep it under 600/700$ and would probably just prefer to buy new.

The idea of a board with a little more vertical pop and not something necessarily designed to shoot out in to the flats is a little more appealing to me. And then something with soft landings/forgiving/etc/all of the things people probably want in a wakeboard. The only recommendation I've gotten from someone at the boat show was Hyperlite Murray 142 + System bindings.

As a side note, are there any Minnesota (Twin Cities area) riders that know of a shop that allows you to demo a wakeboard?

I would probably say harley for wake to wake vertical pop.

theres a full harley package for 600, I did no shopping so you could probably do better, just an example coming in right at your upper mark

2013 Ronix One Timebomb if you are looking for good pop. It also has softer landings than the Harley.

If you want to stick with Hyperlite, there are a few options. The Murray board is pretty popular and it can be paired with the Team boots for a good price. Same goes for the Clash and B-side. If you want a current pro model, I would recommend the Franchise (my personal favorite) or the Marek. Anything is going to be a major upgrade over your 10 year old deck. The Marek is pretty aggressive but still toned down over previous years, at heart it is an edgy and poppy shape. The Franchise is a little more forgiving, carries good speed and IMO has great pop for a continuous shape. The System boots are awesome, but not essential. The Teams are good boots but the System gives you an added level of support and control.

I bought a board from Pinewski's in Anoka, MN about 10 years ago and they let me demo it. Haven't checked in a while though. Worth a shot!
