hey i just got myself a new hyperlite clash 142, so pumped, i gone use it mostly for the cable park but also behind the boat sometimes. who has ridden this behind the boat and how is it? right now it s still brand new sitting in the livingroom and waiting for the shred. i have one question doo, do you guys think the stance is kinda narrow? what baseplates do you guys recommand for the 2010 team? i have the 09 baseplates right now but still kinda narrow...?

Take a look at the reviews in the board guide for the 3DS and Pulse. Its the same shape. Chad Sharpes old pro-model, works very well behind a boat.

the clash 142 has a 24" stance which is pretty average for a board of that size. there aren't many differences between the 09 and 10 models. the 10 will have 7" inserts which produces the same 24" stance with either baseplate. the 09 model has the 8" inserts so you will get a 24" stance with 09 plates and a 23" stance with the 6" plates.

another difference is the 10 has a faster base. they both have slider bases, but the 09 base is rougher texture than the 10, so the 10 will be faster behind the boat. this is all according to my local rep last fall.

haha, well let's just say the great midwest Hyperlite Rep Rick Skinner has been very good to me in the past so i try and promote HL whenever possible.

plus it may be coincidence but my riding has been much improved since making the switch to HL so i have never been happier to help spread the stoke. the proof is in the pudding!

you guys are too much! I am not gunning for your job, Corey so there's no need to worry (i am a chemist fresh from U of I so if there's a need to develop new foams/etc. at HL let me know!).

we're all on the same team here and i will continue to do my best to make sure everyone in the midwest knows how sick Hyperlite and Byerly stuff truly.

Joe, that is kind of downside of riding a board with fins at the cable, you will break a lot of them and it can get expensive. The best Hyperlite fins to ride at the cable is a .8 P-wing or .84 Imperial fin because the edges are rounded. Your board most likely came with the A-wings which have a sharp vertical edge which takes the direct brunt of the slider.

Joe: Go buy a set of the new ronix slider fins, they'll last way longer than any of the metal fins.

there is really no need to change the fins on this board. it comes with the 1.0" plastic a-wings which are surprisingly tough. i rode cable every day for two weeks and ended up breaking the board before any of the fins. they are also 1/2 the cost of metal fins.

i do think just about the toughest fin out there is the hyperlite/byerly shank wakeskate fin.
