Hey there,
I am going to Lake Shasta and the shore line is moving about 10 feet a day. How should I anchor my Sanger so I don't have to dig her out?

Where did you hear "10 feet a day"?? If that were true you could drive a boat all the way back to the bay area.....no trailer required. Late in the summer I've heard it draw down as much as one foot a day, but that's alot. See the attached link. Right now it's not quite at a foot/day.

Ohhh sorry, yea, anchor buddy.

Richard,
I'll second the Anchor buddy. I use mine all the time.

Bring a sand spike to tie your stern off to and run a anchor buddy off the bow.
Make sure you have plenty of rope too. You should let out six or seven feet of anchor line to every ft. of water.

I will recommend the box anchor for holding power, in the loose rocky bottom.

I was just there last week, and it wasn't moving 10 feet a day. I used a 20lb river anchor, anchor buddy, and a stake on the shore. Worked fine

I'm guessing you mean 10 inches a day. You'll have to reset your anchor maybe every 2-3 days.

Pardon me from being stupid and from the East Coast, but why is the lake moving? Just wondering?

It's a reservoir, letting water out of the dam faster than water is coming into the lake.

If your planning to stay in one place all week you can add a line to your anchor buddy and set it out a little further than normal. Then when you need to move the boat out just tie another loop in the line a few feet further out and move the clip and ball to it. It's easy to adjust your shore line if needed.
