Would this nick alter performance of the prop?

Sorry for the pic quality. Looking at buying this prop. It's brand new but has been dinged. Would this need to be reworked or balanced or would it be ok as is?

You would need to get it fixed. Can't put that on "as is".

you could probably run it, BUT you will feel serious vibration, and then that could rattle your drive shaft loose...

wait..running it would be BAD

Get it fixed. Or at least fix it yourself. Having "fixed" lots of AirChair & SkySki wings over the years, I wouldn't have any problem just tapping it back into shape myself with a rubber mallet & a block of wood.

New damaged is worth just as much as used damaged.

If you are getting a good deal on the prop, I'd just bend that back in place myself. Like Bill K said, use a block of wood and mallet, or I've used a crescent wrench adjusted down to the thickness of the metal and bent it with that.

Even as is, I think you would just BARELY notice any vibration.... that just isn't a very big ding.

Like I said though... You better be getting a good deal on a damaged prop.

You can get it repaired for about 90 bucks at a prop shop.
