Mike,

Great looking set up! How big of a lift and what size rims and tires?

Chris

Thanks Chris,

The lift is a Superlift 6" set-up. The rims are 20" Eagle Alloy w/ 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers. The tires are awesome, they don't have a lot of road whine at speed for such a large tire.

Chris,

I really like 4" lifts on SDs. I personally would do a 4" and still put 35" on it. They will fit no problem and are still very streetable. Just my .02

its the fender flares that make those wheels look so small. without the bushwackers on there the tires would look a whole lot better/bigger.

Bobby my 87 Supra SunSport puts out an incredible surf wave (for an old DD), between thigh and belly button depending on the crew, etc. Pocket about 20-25' long. The wakeboard wake is a little rampy but I only use 800 lbs in the rear (6-700 in front), with some more weight in the rear it gets steeper. I prefer to have my ballast hidden if possible, I'm working a few hundred lbs more dry-weight to stash in the gunwales. The Supras have a deep Vee in the bow so they like a little more bow weight than say, compared to the SN2001. Here is a link to my other pics and videos. Plenty of wake and surf videos, follow the link, then look in my signature. http://www.supraboats.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=3630

Yup...agree it is the fender flares.

Here is a better photo of mine. WIth a 6" lift, the 35's look a little small in my opinion. With the 4", they should look perfect. I think the 4" lift on the Superduty trucks with the 35" tires is one of the nicest looking setups around.

Mikey,
Checked the pics and was looking at those for one of my own first boats. What do you think are some potential problems I should look for when buying? any other models in the supra line comparable to the one you have?

to each his own on rims. the rubber is kick ass tho. those Toyo open country M/T's are hands down the best mud tire out there.

Can't deny that Joey, I've had 6 sets of the Toyo M/T's in sizes from 33 to 38", all were great, and they'll be my next tire if it's not a Trail Grappler. I was just talking about the wheels. I'll be glad when this black wheel fad is over. From a distance it looks like he's got 4 spare wheels on it. To each his own, but black wheels on a vehicle look cheap.

wish i could snag some of those Toyos. I have some Nitto Terra grapplers on my truck right now with some chrome KMC XD ambush wheels. Personally I dig the black, but its definitely something the younger generation is drawn to. Sometimes I kick myself for not going with the black wheels and others Im glad I went with the chrome. its that understated badas$ look, is like the best way i can describe it i guess.

For some reason the pic came out a lot darker than what the wheels actually are. In daylight it's easily visible that they are a custom wheel. You really would have to see it in person to appreciate. I'm not a big fan of chrome. I've seen some SD's that it looks great on. Just not for me...

My set up is a Readylift leveling kit (2.5") with 20x9 ATX Crawl wheels and 35x12.50 R20 Toyo M/T's.

Here are a few pics of my rig: 2001 Super Air 210 and a 2005 Nissan Titan. Sure its not the most amazing rig on here but I am proud of it because its my first boat, I payed cash for it and I am only a 24 year old ex army college student! The pics of the boat and truck together are before my 22s and threw a pic with them in there too.

O yea also I know the name of the boat is a little corny but it was on there when I bought it. I talked about removing it and everyone told me not to cuz it was bad luck. Well I ignored them did it anyways and hit a log, destroyed my prop and backed the boat into a dumpster all in one day. It immediately went back on. The boat is fine now tho. just had to get a new prop and do some gelcoat work

JJ, Do you have any issues with rubbing?

Chris
Old     (j2dna)      Join Date: Aug 2010       11-09-2010, 8:08 AM Reply
I have zero rubbing at full turn.

The stock setup is a 34" tire. Supposedly you can run 35" at stock height and 37" with leveling kit. I'm not a fan of the "stuffed" look a 37" would have.

Enough pics of wheels please!

Bobby the boats stringers and floor on my 87 Supra SunSport are wooden (SN2001 is too during that period), so that's the main thing to check. Carefully check the floors for soft spots. Bring a wrench set and make sure the engine mount bolts are snug (but dont try to turn them). MAKE SURE you get it compression tested (you can DIY this too) to make sure your motor is good. That's about it. I love the boat, she has done everything I asked of her. Takes 1500lbs+ no problem. The deep v nose is great in chop. The boat sits much deeper than a SN2001 with high freeboard and seats higher off the ground. The best Supra models to consider are the SunSport of the Saltare which is the 24' version with a 454. There are also closed bow versions of both models (called the Marauder and Pirata respectively). There are many more models but they are shallow-bottomed ski boats. PM me anytime on the Supra site if you wish, always happy to chat.

From the graphics and the extra notch on the front deck where the tower bolts in, I am guessing 2007.

I love the current gen SAN 210, even the '07 with its different deck and interior layout; so dont like it. Definately a good look with the black hull.

She is a 2007. The PO had a green stripe on it, but I thought it looked a heckuva lot better without it.
