I bought it for my Platform and love it. It works well and I ran a bead of caulk around the edge and have no problems out of it.

I resurfaced my Hyperlite Vinyl Wakeskate with it. Didn't really care much for the stock grip tape. I love the Gator Grip!!! I'll definately be getting some more of it for my swim platform and transom protector. Highly recommended.

I've never used caulk on it at all. Might be an interesting touch. Heres a few pics of stuff I've done with it.

Bill, Do you know if anything other than just the 3M sticky tape was used on the traxx on the EDGES of red CinchMax platform?

Silicone chaulking works just fine. Also adds a nice finishing touch. Chris Get the Grip you Deserve www.wakejunky.com

when you remove this stuff does it leave a residue? and how easy is it to cut? i want to do my whole boat in it, well by that i mean all the top edges and the transom area, and the bow step, maybe some on the trailer.

Jack, It's very easy to cut. The residue would be the same as from any 3M sticky tape, I am assuming it would come right off with GOO-GONE. I bought mine last fall to do my Gunnels and other horizontal surfaces. Been on a lot of boats with this stuff... Bought mine from airjunky.com

Cutting is a breeze with a descent pair of scissors. Shapes can be traced to the back of the material. Or you can mock up a shape in cardboard or butcher paper, then transfer that the back of it. The product typically comes with PSA on the back for an easy peel n stick install. But the PSA has been in short supply lately so we have a couple of alternative methods to install it. Contact me if you have any questions.

I'm not fond of the stuff to be honest. Had our boat mechanic put some on last summer and it peeled right up. The 3M adhered to the boat, but pulled away from the mat itself. I'll be re-doing my swim platform, and bow step in Hydro-Turf this year, never had a single problem with that product

Great product! Had it for 3 seasons, no peel up ect... Not sure why the other guy had it peel up but I would figure that to be a prep issue. It's on some friends boats as well. Everyone loves it.

I don't have first hand knowledge if caulking will make it last longer but, since the material is up to 1/4" thick at the bubbles, the caulking will add a bit of transition between the surface and the material. Chris www.wakejunky.com

I was told to put something heavy on the traxx for about 30 minutes when installing to ensure good adhesion.
