What are you guy's opinions on the Polk MCC650 vs the Polk 650/651 dbs? The MCC650s are about double the price ($149). Any other speakers that you guys like that rock?

I have heard they are awesome, but need tons of power.

I just went with the Polk db650's. If you hurry, you can still get them for $59.99 at www.Crutchfield.com

As far as superiority of one over the other, I don't know?

Anyone else? I am trying to decide between the DB650/651's or the MMC650's. I have not been able to hear the two to compare.

I just installed 8 MMC650s in my boat. They sound great. I was able to pick mine up for 99.00 a pair. The main difference is the MMC650 comes with a crossover and function as a component set as opposed to a coaxial speaker. This is why you see a difference in price.

Nubb, How much power to run 8 mmc650s? I would think you'd need a good amount.

I run them in parallel off of a 4 channel 360.4 Zapco amp. Louder than I could even imagine. Gains are turned way down, but Zapco's are very efficient amps, making them appear to be underrated in power.

I just put the db650's in my boat and they sound wonderful very crisp and distortion free. I'm very pleased with them and to be honest the bass reproduction from them isn't to bad either. I got them at cardomain.com for 56.99 a pair and at that price the quality is tough to beat.

I just replaced my blown stock speakers in x2 with 4 db651's on the sale from circuit city, 2 pairs for 150.00. No amp yet, but I'm happy with them.
